Some of Mother Nature's Best Moments.,

This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
Thunderstorm from the Echoes of Nature series is one of my favorite lie-back-and-relax CD's. It is reminiscent of times I've spent backpacking along the Appalachain Trail in the Shenandoah National Park, listening to rain patter on the leaves over my head, or lying in my tent and listening to the thunder rumble across the valley. I can almost smell the fresh wetness in the air, and see the deer eating the rain-washed grass, their wet fur ruffled.Showers, the first track, is the sound of a soft rain beginning to fall in a wood, while birds welcome the shower with song. The soft patter of rain builds to the climax of the CD in track 2, Thunder & Rain. The rain intensifies and thunder rolls, but almost gently, fading into the distance. As the storm passes in track 3, the birds return to their song and a chorus of frogs begins to chirp cheerfully. If you find sounds of nature to be soothing and relaxing, then this CD is for you. I own several of the Echoes of Nature CD's, including Rainforest and Wilderness River, and all are high quality enjoyable recordings- and the price can't be beat!

I really enjoyed this cd; the sound quality is excellent, the sounds seem very authentic, and the thunder is that neat rolling-across-the-sky sort. The cd is divided into three tracks; "showers" is short (3 mins) prelude with birds chirping amid a light rain shower. This leads directly into "thunder & rain" (26 mins) which is just that - no birds, just rain of varying intensity and rolling thunder. Then the cd winds up with track 3 "jamboree" (16 mins), which is the end of the storm - the rain tapers off (but the thunder still rumbles from time to time), birds resume chirping for a bit, then the frogs take over the chorus (but not too loud - just a gentle chirping off in the distance). Very relaxing and peaceful.

Crisp and refreshing as a midsummer shower,

This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
Do you sometimes find yourself standing under the eaves revelling in the beauty of a midsummer storm? Do you find it surprisingly easy and unusually restful to sleep when it is raining outside? If either applies to you, this cd is the cheapest refreshment you will likely ever find outside of the real thing. Enjoy it. I do.
