Some of Mother Nature's Best Moments.,
By
This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
Thunderstorm from the Echoes of Nature series is one of my favorite lie-back-and-relax CD's. It is reminiscent of times I've spent backpacking along the Appalachain Trail in the Shenandoah National Park, listening to rain patter on the leaves over my head, or lying in my tent and listening to the thunder rumble across the valley. I can almost smell the fresh wetness in the air, and see the deer eating the rain-washed grass, their wet fur ruffled.Showers, the first track, is the sound of a soft rain beginning to fall in a wood, while birds welcome the shower with song. The soft patter of rain builds to the climax of the CD in track 2, Thunder & Rain. The rain intensifies and thunder rolls, but almost gently, fading into the distance. As the storm passes in track 3, the birds return to their song and a chorus of frogs begins to chirp cheerfully. If you find sounds of nature to be soothing and relaxing, then this CD is for you. I own several of the Echoes of Nature CD's, including Rainforest and Wilderness River, and all are high quality enjoyable recordings- and the price can't be beat!

I really enjoyed this cd; the sound quality is excellent, the sounds seem very authentic, and the thunder is that neat rolling-across-the-sky sort. The cd is divided into three tracks; "showers" is short (3 mins) prelude with birds chirping amid a light rain shower. This leads directly into "thunder & rain" (26 mins) which is just that - no birds, just rain of varying intensity and rolling thunder. Then the cd winds up with track 3 "jamboree" (16 mins), which is the end of the storm - the rain tapers off (but the thunder still rumbles from time to time), birds resume chirping for a bit, then the frogs take over the chorus (but not too loud - just a gentle chirping off in the distance). Very relaxing and peaceful.

Crisp and refreshing as a midsummer shower,
By A Customer
This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
Do you sometimes find yourself standing under the eaves revelling in the beauty of a midsummer storm? Do you find it surprisingly easy and unusually restful to sleep when it is raining outside? If either applies to you, this cd is the cheapest refreshment you will likely ever find outside of the real thing. Enjoy it. I do.

This CD isn't bad, just not of thunderstorms. It is a cd of rainshowers with some thunder. The constant rain sounds more like static, like when your cable goes out. I was disappointed.

The best rainstorm recording out there,

If you are looking for a great cd recording of rain and thunder for relaxation or sleep puposes, this is it. It is stunning that the best recording is also the cheapest! Has just the right amount of thunder, the rain sounds close and real, the volume never gets too loud or soft. Save your money and get this one. It is the only one you will ever need.

I only wish it were longer!,

If you're looking for plain thunderstorm sounds, look no further. This is a very well-done recording of what sounds like a genuine storm. (Trust me, I live by Seattle - I know rain. ;) The volume is very good - it is constant throughout the CD, and even the loudest thunderclaps aren't too overpowering. The thunder isn't constant throughout the CD, but the sound of falling rain is quite soothing. My only real complaint is that it should be longer! =)

I love the sound of thunder!,
This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
This is a really good thunderstorm recording. The sound is very real--better than the other one I bought: Sounds of Nature, "Rolling Thunder". I'd still like to find one with more frequent thunder on it, though.

THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY LIFE !!!,

When this CD was first released I was still a teenager living at home. It was a very violent and abusive home life and every night I would pop this CD in, hit repeat, and go to bed. The very real-like and natural sounds of the rain and thunder was calming and provided a reassuring environment for me to sleep in. I lost this CD a few years after that because everyone wanted to borrow it and I don't know where it ended up. Ever since then I would go in every music store I knew of just to see if I could find it. I always left disappointed and heart broken that not even a search of possible inventory I could order came up with this CD. A few years ago my husband bought me another thunderstorm album that ended up reminding me of what I was really missing. It didn't have the real life, natural sounding rain and thunder. I kept searching. Did I mention that I was searching with only a memory of the front cover to go on! I had eventually lost the case as well. Then tonight, out of the blue, I was going through a box of CD's that had been sitting in our basement for the past 4 years and I found the empty case! I couldn't get to my laptop fast enough to punch in the important information; and there it was! My jaw dropped and I gasped when I finally saw the familiar front cover... Echoes of Nature... Thunderstorm... Dark blue sky with the lightning bolt! I didn't even hesitate to put in my order! So, long story short - THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART to Kim Wilson for the talent in recording this one-of-a-kind CD! And to everyone out there who hesitates to buy one label over another... I promise you that the un-rivaled, natural sounds of this Thunderstorm will be a rewarding treat for years to come!

Good enough for a Massage,
By
This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
This CD begins with a nice, not overwhelming, birdsong. Then the CD enters a few tumbles of thunder, not realy a clap, but a strong rumble and several rolling rumbles. Then it goes into a pretty long rain shower, then rumbles a little more before it tapers off into the chorus of frogs. It has been intrestingly popular in my massage work. (I am a Massage Therapist who works in a Chiropractor's office.). I have a little boom-box that I use and the rain comes across more like static but the white-noise it creates, appropriately drowns out the office environment. I warn my clients that there will be thunder that occurs and once warned they realy compliment how they enjoyed the rain. The massage room stays open when not being used. I usualy leave the storm cd playing, people always ask where they can buy the CD. Anyway - that is what I thought about it. It is wonderful!

Thunderstorms,

This review is from: Echoes of Nature: Thunderstorm (Audio CD)
I have serveral thunderstorm cds, but this is my favorite. This cd had lulled me to sleep many a day. I work nights and sleep during the day. I put this cd on and it covers the noise outside and helps me get a good day's sleep. If you want a cd that has thunderstorms without music then this is the cd for you
