5.0 out of 5 stars A must read book for anyone looking for a romance novel
A remarkable, heart-throbbing story, with love, romance, time travel, and suspence. I have read it three times and I never get tired of it. It is a truely amazing story of a man who gets sent to the future and falls in love with a woman. He ends up getting sent back to the past and love does conquer all because she follows him shortly after. The suspence part is that...

I have always liked time travel romances, wondering how the author is going to work the miracle of crossing centuries, and seeing how the characters react to the difference in circumstances. The suspence part is that she has to win back his love because he doesn't remember his trip to the future. This is a well written story with passion and romance...the kind of book you don't want to put down.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great time-travel, May 10, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Echoes of Tomorrow (Paperback)
Elise Gerard is a bit surprised when Reed Blackwell appears in front of her eyes and demands to know what she's doing in his bedroom! Reed, however, is even more surprised when he discovers he's traveled from 1844 to 1994. His encounter with "the future" is entertaining and the relationship between Elise and Reed moves along quite well until Reed is sent back to 1844! The plot is well-formed and moves along quickly, fans of the time-travel genre will enjoy this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, April 23, 2000
This review is from: Echoes of Tomorrow (Paperback)
This is the first book I have read from Jenny Lykins, and I loved it. One of a few books where you see both the hero and heroine going into a different time period. First the hero comes to the future, then the heroine goes to the past to reclaim his love (who does not remember his time in the future). This sets the stage for some interesting and funny scenes. I would recommend this novel to anyone who loves time travel novels. And I am sure that I will try other books by Jenny Lykin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, August 4, 2009

This review is from: Echoes of Tomorrow (Paperback)
This book was a neat concept, in that we get to see these two characters in two different times. I didn't exactly love the beginning part where they fall in love in the present time. I thought it was a bit rushed and a bit too giggly and perfect. Reed's acceptance of the future and his ability to blend in was a little unbelievable, especially the driving part. But, just when I thought it was getting too silly, he disappears, and then when Elise goes back to his time and discovers that he doesn't remember her, that is when it starts to get good. Your emotions then go up and down with Elise's as she desperately tries to get her own husband to remember her before he marries someone else. The ending was great, but I wish that it had continued on a few more pages after Reed remembers her, that way you felt a complete ending to the story. Overall a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tinker Belle, December 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Echoes of Tomorrow (Paperback)
I loved this book. If you ever wanted to be transported back to the era before the civil war, when the South lived in splendor this book is it. Easily slipping the hero into today and sending the heroine back to yesteryear. I think this is Ms Lykins best book to date. Totally different than any other time trave I have ever read. Even if you have to hunt to find a copy of this book, I promise it is well worth it. "Echo Of Tomorrow" is on my permanent keeper shelf.

I have always liked time travel romances, wondering how the author is going to work the miracle of crossing centuries, and seeing how the characters react to the difference in circumstances. Bringing modern thoughts to a bygone era, or antiquated ideas to today's liberal philospophies. Its a difficult task to recreate the past, and harder yet to realistically place a modern person in those scenes. Thus saying, I think Ms. Lykins tries hard to bring both past and present together, and at some points succeeds wonderfully, at others, she fails.

In general, Echoes of Tomorrow is a great story with an intriguing plotline. If you want a quick read that will make you chuckle at times, then definitely read this book. In reading this book, however, I found the descriptions a little flat and lacking, and there were many times the story felt rushed. The ending was a bit disappointing, not because of its content but because it felt like Ms. Lykins reached a page deadline and had to end it. It was choppy and very uncomfortable to read.

This review is from: Echoes of Tomorrow (Paperback)
This was the first time travel novel I have read, and was definitely not disappointed. I wish that in the 90's there were men more like Reed. This book is Hot, Hot, Hot! A definite page turn! This is a book you don't want to miss reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars A book worth reading, November 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Echoes of Tomorrow (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading this book, and would suggest it to others looking for a good romantic novel . . .If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever
