About the Author
Jasper Cook was born in Cisco, Texas in 1915. By his sixth birthday he was entertaining friends with his harmonica and funny stories. He became a comedian and musician at Medicine Shows, in Vaudeville, National Radio and Television, and is also author of The Portable Pastor.

After the author retired and moved to Austin, he still wrote letters to our local paper. He had a true gift for humor - a humor that offended no one. He was a good man, and is missed by those of us who read his work. This book, "Echoes of Vaudeville", is an excellent example of his sense of humor and his stories of Vaudeville.
