Echoes of War,
By a flynn "a flynn" (london) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Echoes of War: The Story of H2S Radar (Hardcover)
Like Bowen and Watson-Watt (see my reviews) Lovell played key part in wartime radar development, and like Bowen went into radio astronomy after 1945 (Jodrell Bank etc). Though tone of book dry it is therefore a valuable source for the technically-minded. As Lovell shows, H2S was vital to Allied bombing--even more so than "Oboe". No H2S no Hamburg, Dresden, but also more concentrated and genuinely strategic raids.
