This product comes with 2 DVDs and a book with beautiful nature photos taken by Eckhart with powerful quotes from the retreat next to the photos. Normally DVDs are more expensive than CDs, however somehow they've managed to price this package as if it were CDs, so already it's a great value!

If you are reading this you probably already are, like myself, a huge Eckhart fan. You will not be disappointed with these DVDs. I own practically everthing Eckhart has put out, and once again he does an amazing job. In addition to his "normal" talk about stillness and being present because that's all there is, he is really very funny and entertaining on these DVDs. Also, the picture and sound quality is quite good.

Tip: I purchased my copy of Findhorn Retreat directly from Eckhart's website because they include a FREE DVD with a 1 hour interview of Eckhart. I've always been curious about Eckhart as a person and this interviewer asks him many of the "personal" questions about his background, about growing up as a child, about the difference in his life now that he makes a lot of money (funny enough, he says he rarely buys things, that it's enough to just "look at them" and so the money hasn't made much of a change in his life at all!). Obviously he doesn't talk about these things during his usual presentations, so I found them very interesting to hear how he handles "fame and success".

I can't tell you how great this DVD is (it's called "The Simple Truth" and is only available from Eckharts site, but again, amazingly, they throw it in Free when you purchase the Findhorn DVDs and book!)

Hope this feedback helps!

If you loved 'The Power of Now' you will be blown away with the clarity and depth of this talk. Eckhart is one of the most important spiritual teachers alive and this CD set is one of his best talks. Highly Recommended to all who are ready to hear the truth and experience deep stillness and presence. Thank you Eckhart for this gift ~ the planet is in dire need of this message!

5.0 out of 5 stars Formless Brilliance, June 26, 2007

This review is from: Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat: Stillness Amidst the World (Audio CD)
I read a brilliant book called "Be Here Now" by Richard Alpert aka Baba Ram Dass 35 years ago. I took up TM for several years after that experience.
Those phenomenon allowed me to quiet my mind, live in the present and do things I imagined I could do, but could not have done otherwise. I got into and graduated from medical school (I am from a blue collar family), while going through a divorce. They put me into a place where I was able to woo and marry a special woman. Then I fell deeply into form, materialism, egoism while anguishing about the past as I awaited the future rewards I felt I richly deserved. Over these last 25 years my life completely unravelled. I became a bitter, angry, pain-ridden shell. Big house, fancy cars, world travel and a quickening descent into hell. (I even got a law degree. Maybe I could defend my-self). Nothing worked.
Until Eckhart emerged from obscurity (part of his story) into my story. Suddenly senselessness made sense. The past and the future began to shrink into, simply, now. Now I am so alive, full of joy, without being full of me. I work in a maximum security prison as a psychiatrist, the only death chamber in Florida is 200 yards from my office. The staff, the prisoners, the outside visitors see this place as a place of sadness and despair. Thanks to the universal channel that Eckhart has tuned me into, there is a little smile on my face every moment I am there. Amazingly, everyone around has begun to smile, every now and then. Not because of the little me, but because of what is flowing through me. What is flowing through me? The beauty and goodness and love that exists inside of them. They don't know that is where my smile is coming from. I hope and pray they discover that.
Thank you Eckhart for suffering so much, so you could bring me into the present, into the now, to feel the stillness in the midst of chaos.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful Eckhart recording, February 18, 2006

This is a very worthwhile recording to listen to. Over the first three discs Mr. Tolle talks about the usual stuff, like the structure of ego and various ego traps you can fall into, how life reduces you in form and accepting that, the now, space consciousness, etc. but as always, does so in a fresh and new way. The fourth disc is an audience q&a with questions about presence and humor, and whether a fool can become enlightened. He refers to Forrest Gump as an example of this. I have experienced all his books and a lot of his audio, so I have heard/read all aspects of his teaching many times over but still, there is a quality that he brings that I never get tired of hearing... ok, the recording. I have not listened to it enough times yet to give an in depth review (i wanted to hurry and put a positive one out fast, and then edit the review after I've had time to go over it) but I will say that it is great, and contains perhaps the most funny moments of any talk I have yet heard.

Just so you know, this is not published by Sounds True like all the rest and the format is a little different... a man introduces him and there is no tracklisting whatsoever.

And lastly, for four discs at about an hour each, this is the best deal you could possibly find (thanks amazon!)... skip "realizing the power of now" and get this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear pointing to Stillness, March 3, 2006
This review is from: Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat: Stillness Amidst the World (Audio CD)
After reading Stillness Speaks and falling in love with Eckhart's 'teaching' I purchased Even the Sun Will Die which led me to purchase this CD series. Eckhart points so clearly to That which is always present that we are all aware of, but just overlook when we are so identified with the busyness of the mind. This cd series stops my mind with each sentence and allows me to see the mind's movement so that I become more aware of when I have identified with thoughts or feelings as who I am.

He brings humor to identification allowing oneself to see the ridiculousness of believing oneself to be anything other than who we truly are.

I also enjoy listening to Gangaji and Eli Jaxon-Bear, as they, and Eckhart, have found a true way of pointing others back to who they really are.

If you listen to this CD series and pass it off as another teaching or 'that is too simple to be it', than you've missed the opportunity this CD has to offer and should question your own willingness in stopping rather than whether the author is 'doing it right or not'. Everything is a reflection of one's self. The entire world supports your awakening. Listen deeply to what Eckhart points to and you will immediately receive the nectar of Life that is always here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Recording, February 24, 2006
This review is from: Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat: Stillness Amidst the World (Audio CD)
The sound quality is excellent unlike some of the Tolle recordings put out by Sounds True. An extremely well balanced presentation of Eckhart's thoughts with lots of integrated humor. Highly recommended

This series is like going on a private retreat whenever you're able to take a few moments with your CD or mp3 player. I find Eckhart's written work to be such a challenge for me to read, comprehend and digest that I've gone to audio for his works. The amazing thing is that the secret to life is all right here in his presentation. He doesn't make a pitch for coming to Findhorn on your own to "find" yourself, or to purchase more of his products to better understand how to find yourself. He basically presents the key to being in the now that anyone can access if only they allow themselves that luxury. It's a simple process but as all simple things, it is far from easy. I can only say that I don't know why listening to Echart's words has a calming affect on me, but they do. I've been fortunate to have his CD's on when stuck in major snowstorms on highways or in similar conditions in the heat of summer. For some reason, with his words and thoughts in my mind I always find a slight smile coming to my face and a realization that, this is the now, and I may as well accept it and live in it. I'm very grateful for Eckhart's words and the humility with which he presents them. I would recommend this series to anyone who needs a break from this insane world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritual Insights, March 12, 2007
This review is from: Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat: Stillness Amidst the World (Audio CD)
I had already read Power of Now and A New Earth when I ordered this audiobook. I found it to be a concentrated summary of Mr. Tolle's teachings told with humility, humor and with a decided ring of truth. It should be listened to when you are alone, quiet and in a mood of calm concentration. The spiritual insights hit home on a deep level, not fact knowledge to be grabbed at but more of an awakening of spiritual knowing already within you. I'm sure to listen to these again and again and share them with others spiritually ready to receive the message.

I just finished listening to the Findhorn Retreat CDs and can't wait to listen to them again. Right from the beginning of the first CD he spoke from such a place of stillness that I actually felt calmer and more centered just listening. He spoke about how each of us carry "stories" that keep us from being in the now and he addressed form and formlessness in a way that made it meaningful to the way we live today. I sincerely recommend the Findhorn Retreat CDs - they are very special.

This was a wonderful gift to myself and I am so glad I took the time to view the two DVDs. Now when I need a refresher, I just pick up the book and view a lovely photograph and read the inspiring words.
