This is fine for simple and quick stuff, like writing happy birthday on a cake, but that is about it. A few days after I received this I saw a similar kit at the dollar store that came with a quite a few more tips than this did. Overall it is okay, but i would not buy this expecting to do any elaborate decorating.

i got this kit for my first attempt at cake decorating...a turtle cake for my one year old son's party. i had previously bought a kit from wilton, but the tips seemed too big for what i wanted to do so i went with this one instead. it worked well, but my recommendation is that you get a few of these at least, to handle different colors and avoid washing it out all the time. the only con to it is that it's got a very small capacity, so you decorate for a few minutes and then have to refill it. my cake wasn't that big so it wasn't a huge deal, but a little annoying. it was very well-priced and got here fast, however. i wish i had ordered a few, because i ended up paying way more for shipping than the actual product itself! not a bad little kit though, i would recommend it.

When you can't quite afford the Wilton's cake decorating tips and accessories this will work just as good for a cheaper price. I would recomend this product.

I think you can get this at your closest dollar store. It's junk unless your buying it for your kid to make mud cakes with in the back yard.

I frosted 50 mini cupcakes with this. It worked great. The only negative is that it does not hold a lot of frosting so you have to keep refilling it-- and that proved to be fairly time consuming.

I ordered this based on the price, the number of tips, and the fact that it was not a bag style kit. I have had the bag style before and found it hard to clean. I purchased this set for home use, to use for fun. It does everything I want it to do, which is to do simple decorating, and I wanted in to have the wide opening so it was easy to spoon frosting inside. After decorating I soak it in a sudsy sink of hot, hot water and it practically cleans itself. Love it. How can you go wrong for the price.

I bought this for my grandchildren to see if they liked decorating cakes, etc. They had fun with it. It worked well for a beginner, but a more experienced cook might want a set with more attachments and larger pieces.
