gorgeous dark-folk ethereal opera, April 12, 2005
This review is from: Eclipse (Audio CD)
autumn tears albums are always dark and sublime... their new release "eclipse", takes a slightly new direction into dark-folk territory ("ophelia's crown", "flight")while still keeping elements of the creepy operetta style of their past work ("three", "dawn", "at a distance"). the intense sadness of their songs rips at the heart and the poetry of the music clings to the ears..."invisible water flows down their cheeks, you call them water, i call them wounds...you call them water, oh, but i call them wounds..." (lyrics from title track, "eclipse")
*heavenly voices, dark laments, sumptuous instruments blending into a mass of beauty.
