This review is from: Eco Chic (Paperback)
This book doesn't pretend that eco-fashion (or ethical clothing) is going to save the world. It does, however, touch on the key issues facing the fashion industry and outlines some of the efforts to overcome them.

It is a timely reminder how little the industry has progressed overall, but does show that progress is being made and momentum is building.

Although it is someone UK-centric, the book does cover a lot of ground - from organic cotton and wool to eco-synthetics, dying and printing techniques, recycling & swap meets. It also examines the social impacts of the industry (sweatshop labour, globalisation etc.) - don't let the "eco" in the title fool you.

The directory at the back contains a goldmine of pointers to sites related to the topic. And it also contains many interesting and useful statistics and factoids for anyone interested in the field for study or starting a business.
