5.0 out of 5 stars great book! November 12, 2008
Format:Paperback
Honestly this is an AMAZING book. There are TONS of fun suggestions about how to engage your kids in the going green process. Helen gives incredibly easy steps to follow and suggests reachable goals for the entire family. She gives a monthly plan of attack and chapter checklists. Eco-Friendly Families is so easy to read that even the green "newbies" amongst us would love it. This is a book that any family could follow in their green efforts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for any place you fall on the green living spectrum! September 25, 2008
Format:Paperback
This book is great for beginners and seasoned "greenines" alike! There was so much imformation that anyone, just starting out on the green living journey could follow and not feel overwhelmed. For someone like myself who I consider further along on the journey of green living, I still found and unbelievable amount of information from Helen to help me take things even further. It is an easy read and you'll find yourself bookmarking page after page of tips, advice and step by step instructions. It is great for families of young children and Helen makes a special effort to include the teen age group in all of her helpful hints and how the families can work together to be a green team!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Green "Touchstone" September 25, 2008
Format:Paperback
Helen Coronato's Eco-Friendly Families is everything it promises to be -- easy, practical, and truly family-friendly. It's loaded with little tips and ideas on how to transform our everyday living into a pattern that is less wasteful and more mindful of the world around us. And best of all, these tips are focused at whole families; they give family members of all ages a role to play instead of telling the mommy how to be the bandleader. What's unique about Coronato's writing style is that it makes it fun -- no hum-drum chores or guilt-inducing preaching here!

The author not only has ideas for little everyday transformations, but also includes tips for changing the way we approach wasteful occasions like birthday parties, baby showers, and the holiday season. This makes the book into a wonderfully well-rounded "touchstone" that I'm sure my family will be referencing for years to come! You will not regret adding this book to your shelf.

I love the author's humble and open approach towards going green! She makes it realistic by offering so many ideas in every spectrum of the environmentally friendly world. I like how she lays out a monthly plan of attack for the entire family throughout the year, or you can pick up the book, open to any random page and find a brilliant idea! 5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST-HAVE!!! September 29, 2008
Format:Paperback
Eco-Friendly Families has so many good ideas that I could actually use! I'm in a mommy playgroup and we have done some of the activities with the kids which has worked out great. Instead of having to buy supplies, we use what's on hand and save money while helping the environment. And I love the five minute makeovers! Really inspiring!
