Eco-dough is an all natural alternative. It is made with plant, fruit and veggie extracts! No chemicals, artificial dyes or metals. The containers are made from cornstarch and 100% compostable. Also it doesn't dry out like name brands. If it's left out overnight just add a few drops of olive oil and it comes right back!

I love love love this Eco-Dough!!!!!!! I have had mine for several months and I actually like it a lot better than Playdoh. I use Eco-Dough when working with many of my special needs children and adults. They love it! My kids who have sensory integration issues love the texture and it actually smells like some of the extracts used to make it, which is a neat sensory experience for them. I also like the individual containers the Eco-dough comes in. It keeps the dough from drying out and it's a great fine motor activity to get my students to unscrew the lids and get the dough out. My students like it because it's easier to work with than Playdoh. The directions say that you can add a little olive oil if it gets dried out, but I have not had this issue so far.
Just like the other kind reviewer, I never have before reviewed anything on Amazon, but I decided to because the only other reviewer gave Eco-Dough three stars, but spent most of her review writing about Playdoh. I can't really figure out why she gave it three stars because she didn't really seem to give any reasons for that, but seems to dislike Playdoh.
IMHO, it's well worth the higher price.

I had to review because the only other reviewer was a complete snot. It's plant dye and this stuff is so great... who cares what it tastes like (??!!). Not gluten free, but I'm not sure you can't find play dough that is. Great stuff, we've had it almost a year. :)

This molding dough is a great alternative for gluten sensitive people. The containers were on the small side so we only got a dozen or so "plays" or "uses" out of the dough before it dried out, got mushed with other colors, etc. It has a very mild scent but not unpleasant.
