This has to be the most effective way of killing ants AND keeping them away! the smell is strong but goes away after a little while but at least its spearmint and not a chemical smell! I sprayed under my kitchen counter after trying sprays, lemon, vinegar, traps all didnt work and after i sprayed twice I havent seen an ant on that counter for 3 weeks now I even left out food overnight. The only downside is it may work so well the ants find new places to go!

This doesn't last very long. It's also very liquid -more of a stream than a spray so you have to be careful where you aim it. I went back to regular insect spray. I use this on a small cloth or towel where I want to spray in an area that my pet might reach or in a food area because it is safer than the others. The minty smell is strong but not bad and I don't use it in a large amount. You can also buy it at most LOWES or HOME DEPOT stores and save shipping.

This product is great. I live in a very old building around lots of forestry and I've been spraying it around my apartment's windows and doors for the past year. I didn't realize how great this product is until I ran out and waited for it to ship. After two weeks of no EcoSmart in my apartment, I was killing many small and few huge bugs and centipedes in my apartment like every day. I spray this product like every two weeks and it keeps all the bugs away, this summer before I ran out of Ecosmart, I killed like 5 bugs total. This product is amazing, I need to stock up on it.

Originally, I picked this up for warding off an invasion of ants. Pesky little things would come out in a new place every time I thought I'd banished them. They avoided all the and traps, including the one that I with Borax and Kayro, something they nearly always go for. I'd read no reviews, but the labeling on the can claimed it fit what I needed. I was suspicious, certainly. A "green" product that worked as well or better than the man made stuff? I'd heard that claim before, and been disappointed more often than not.

First blast of the EcoSMART - whoa! Pungent! Minty! And every ant in site dead or running for it like their lives depended on it. Which it did. My ants hate this stuff, avoid any area it's been sprayed. Within two days, they were all gone and haven't come back. That was 4 months ago.

Reading the reviews, I noticed a lot of people claiming that it doesn't work on roaches. I wanted to see for myself, but finding a roach turned out to be tougher than I thought. The first one I hit ran off, and I figured the reviews were right. But yesterday, I struck gold, a roach that happened to be out in the open. Now I see why there are complaints that the EcoSMART doesn't work. Unlike the ants, the roach didn't die on contact. It took a minute or two, but signs of decaying life were present on about 30 seconds. Like the ants, the roaches don't like the smell at all and run from it quick.

Peppermint oil, one of the main active ingredients in this product, not only kills ants on contact, instantly, but it has a residual effect, and will prevent ants from coming back. If they are coming into your house through a tiny hole or crack, this mint spray will stop them from coming through the same place (although they are quite clever about finding another place). And mint (and rosemary oil which is in here) is safe for people, pets, children, plants, you name it.

However, before using this product, the fantastic effectiveness does come with a price. It has a very, very, very strong mint smell. So, if you plan on using indoors, it is best to test out a little, or make sure you air out the room after spraying. That being said, this is the best anticide, I have ever found.

I loved the idea of "organic" insect killer cause I don't want to use harmful chemicals but when it comes to killing insect, you might have to resort to that.

If anything, this product is more of a insect repellent then insect killer. I saw a spider in my back yard and I literally drenched that sucker with this spray, and as soon as the spray started to dry, the spider got up and crawled away. I ended up killing it with a broom instead. I can't comment on how well it'll do with other insects, but it was advertised to "kill on contact" which it clearly did not do and spiders were on its kill list.

Pros:
- Not harmful to cute kids and puppies
- Smells like peppermint and could almost be used as an air freshener after you take a #2

Cons:
-DID NOT KILL A SPIDER ON CONTACT like it said it would do on the can

It's basically concentrated peppermint oil, which is lethal to most small insects. The strong smell folks talk about is the peppermint odor. Kills on contact within a few seconds for roaches and ants and wasps (the only thing we've needed to use them for). We can also find it at our local Lowe's hardware store. Great non-toxic option for around the house... well non-toxic unless you're an insect.
