Nice stand up solar fridge/freezer

Very nice fridge and shipping was decent for how far it had to come. I have looked for months for a stand-up solar but only could find smaller ones in the U.S. I took a gamble and it payed off as this is a great company (Many thanks to Ben) with helpful/quick responses.

I have had it hooked up (1x 200Watt/24Volt Solar Panel + 2x 12Volt Marine deep-cycle batteries connected in series to make them 1x 24Volt) now for 2 weeks with no problems at all. It is surprisingly quiet and the freezer was alot bigger than expected.

If you are looking for a good fridge for a Cabin, or just want to get off-the-grid. This is a great fridge to do it.

No more propane headaches ! Thanks Eco Solar Cool

Well after much pondering on what kind of solar fridge to purchase I finally settled on the 6.2 cuft eco solar cool model with a little persuasion from the sales rep. I wasn't sure what to expect because I had not heard of this brand before and there seemed to be little info on power requirements.etc.
I have been running this top fridge bottom freezer now for 3 weeks with a 6 amp 12 volt converter by sun force with no problems. Freezer at-15'C and fridge at a comfy 4'C. My kill a watt meter says it is using 300 watts per 24 hr. day at +22'C..not bad at all for a reasonably sized fridge/freezer combo in my opinion. That is 177 watts less than sundanzers dcrf134 upright and its 1.7 cuft larger than the sundanzer.
So this would equate to approx needing 160w of solar panels, 324 amp hours of 12 volt battery power( this gives you 4 days power with no sun) and 6 hours of sun per day for charging, and that should get you through those +32'C days. Or at an ambiant temp of 21'C you need a 95 watt panel and 194 Ahr battery and 6 hrs sun time a day. Oh you will also need a battery solar charge controller so you don't over or under charge your battery.(about $60)
If you find the above options above too expensive you could get by with a smaller panel and lower amp hr batteries if you are just a weekend warrior, or keep the ambient air around your fridge at 21'C or lower. I hooked up a 12v car battery to test run it and it ran 24 hrs at 20'C. This fridge is destined to my non air conditioned camp.Jim at eco solar cool was great

Great Solar Freezer from EcoSolarCool

This is a great chest freezer on it's own, but when you add the fact that it's powered by the sun, it makes it even greater. Just add your own solar panel and battery and you're ready to go. It offers enough room for freezing foods for a large family. Quiet and efficient, it's one of the best investments we've made. I would suggest this to anyone who needs a rock-solid freezer while saving money on your electric bills.

We recently purchased a 175 Fridge Freezer. It did take sometime to be delivered to New Zealand but in the end it was worth the wait. The fridge has performed better than it was rated drawing 2.5amps with an outside air temperature of around 16c. The freezer froze ice cubes in less than 2 hours on the setting of 5#. There was a small issue with one of the draws which was very tight. This was fixed using sand paper and giving it a light sand. The machine looks great and runs well. Our solar panels are recharging our 12volt batteries fasting than the machine draws/uses and we are in mid winter here.We have no hesitation in recommending this appliance.

I've been waiting for affordable units to become available for some time and now they are. quiet compressor, good lid, seals and metal lining. units can get damaged by shipping so be sure to carefully inspect the fridge.
