Great books for the reluctant and the science-minded readers,

These books were recommended by my 8 year old son's teacher - and she was right. They appeal to his intellectual interest in animals, nature, and all sorts of outdoor adventures. He is a reluctant reader of chapter books, but he enjoys these books as much, if not more, than his comic books. And I love the environmental message and science. Plus the parents -even moms- have cool jobs, like being scientists!
