Good texts, poor photos,

The text is mainly excellent, and the truly southern areas are thorougly discussed. The more tropical areas are discussed only cursorily: the conifers of central and northern South America are merely mentioned, and the chapter "Conifers of Tropical Australasia" (also including Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines) concentrates on the author's studies on the two New Guinean Araucaria spp. There are not much photos and they are of poor quality. Taxonomy is partly out-of-date. Despite the above mentioned drawbacks, a very interesting book.
