Excellent Insights for the Budding Economist,

I took a course from Professor Hammermesh as a college freshmen, and it was his insights, carefully collected in this volume that sparked my interest in the study of economics and led me to eventually earn my econ degree. I think that nearly everyone who took that Econ 101 course left feeling like they had a lot to gain from further study in the discipline. If only every economics book was as straightforward, interesting, and readable as this one, we would probably have more econ PhD candidates than lawyers.

This book has made a major difference in the high school economics class I teach. My students always light up when I
can give them a story with the theory. This book has so many great examples. I am wowing them everyday. Thanks professor!
