Outstanding product!! Highly recommended!,

I was a bit skeptical of the "adaptive" claims when I originally bought this unit. However, I have completely changed my mind since actually hearing the device. The response is really impressive! I don't hear traffic noise out my window anymore. This device really does a very good job of making REALISTIC adaptations. When a police car runs by with the sirens blaring, it responds quickly to cover it up. However, most changes appear much more gradual and natural. It's very easy to get lost in the sound. Almost everyone who sees it wants to tap on the table next to it to make it respond. I always get at least one "That's cool!" when they do. I had a couple of questions about the unit when I first got it, so I emailed customer support at ASTI. I received a very detailed response to my question in only a few hours. They were great to deal with. How refreshing!

Great Product,
This review is from: Ecotones Adaptive Sound Therapy Machine (with Minor Cosmetic Flaws)
What a great product. I have been having trouble sleeping for years because of outside noise. I had purchased other sound machines, but their sound quality was so poor that the sound that they produced began to annoy me. Ecotones has a very pure high quality sound. Their adaptive feature is very cool and literally makes the outside noise disappear. I am not sure how they do this but there is a lot of technology inside this product. It is a little expensive, but well worth the investment.

I've tried a few of these white noise generators and this, so far, is among the best. I'll try and point out it's pluses and minuses as best I can:Plus: Has a nice speaker...sounds great! Window that shows pic's of sounds is high rez. and nice. Many sounds (sound story's) to choose from. Adaptive function is awesome...volume increases with noise sensed. Timer function works and is cool. Can turn off pic thus killing light. Volume change...does what you'd expect, nice. Minus: Buttons are on flat panel/plastic. Can't push them by feel. There IS repetition in sounds. Odd noises...bad sounds. Explanation: The sounds are great but despite what the packaging may say, there is repetition as there seems to be in all devices of this type. The rain sound which I love has a two drip repeating sound that, if I focus, drives me nuts. The buttons are terrible. You cannot press them just by feel, you need light. Some of the sounds have bad choices...Train; I thought this sound would be great but there is a bell that rings, DOH! don't try to sleep to that! Second sea/wave sound; I thought this would be water sound only but there is a random bird sound (sounds like they missed it in the edit) that interrupts the ocean noise. Rain; has the afore mentioned repeating drip noise. Other than those caveats, I'd recommend this system.

Different from the other sound machines,

The soothing realistic sounds actually transport you to the beach, remind you of the campfire or transport you back to warm midwest summer eveings. I could almost see the lightning bugs! This really does deliver sound therapy. If you are in the market for a sound machine, this one is the best.

I love the digital sound. I haven't slept in a couple years due to my dog having health issues so he wakes me up every 2.5hrs or so to go out but this machine puts me to sleep within 20min which is better than the TV on Lawrence welch...hahhaa...would be nice for the price to be able to download more sounds from a website though. The look is hi tech, sounds are great as I cant tell any overlapping and works as advertised. Set up was easy. Light up push buttons would also help. I have to use a small flashlight to change sounds. If the company changed those two issues they would sell a lot more of these. I'm still happy with it though.

Others have described how wonderful this is. I give it 5 stars even though I returned it for a refund. It turns out that a small minority of users, like myself, find that the realism makes it hard to sleep, compared to, say, just a simple water sound. Getting a refund was pleasant and prompt. If you think this product might be for you, it probably is and there is no risk. The sounds are beautiful and it can enrich your life.More power to the people who make it! Give it a try and you won't be sorry. I wasn't.

Ahhhhh....sleep!,

I've had my Ecotones Therapy Machine for about a month now, and I do love it! I do wish there were more sound options, but I use the "distant thunderstorm" and it does a great job of lulling me to sleep and covering up the weird sounds that come from using a CPAP machine for sleep apnea. I have one minor complaint which I managed to fix. The buttons are "flush" with the machine and I could never find them without turning on a light. So, I went to the craft store and bought a cheap package of jeweled stickers, stuck one on the on/off button and now its no problem finding that button in the dark.

This product will amaze you! I have tried other sleep machines and no others can compete with this item! The sounds are amazing and you will think you are in the environment of the sounds. The machine sounds are great! If you need a machine that will help you sleep and relax at night-this is what you want! Forget sharper Image or the others- they can not compete with this machine. If you want a Champion of Sleep Sound Machines- this is what you want! I highly recommend this product for anyone who has sleep problems or just want to relax.

I've used this device in two different office settings. I don't really need it where I'm currently located, but the sounds that it produces are soothing enough that I use it anyway.

Adaptive feature is deaf to the outside world,

The Ecotones creates pleasant, realistic sounds, just as advertised. The adaptive feature has an instant response to the slightest sound inside our bedroom. A drawer or door closing, a cough, a creaking floorboard? Boom! Up goes the volume. Unfortunately, we bought it to mask the sounds OUTSIDE our bedroom, so we could sleep with a window open. Barking dogs? Helicopter? Jet plane roaring overhead? For these, it is stone deaf and totally useless, even when we put it next to the open window.Save your money and buy a conventional sound generator. Just turn it up high. |
