Many sex magic texts engage in willful wordiness and obscurity: see Crowley, Bertiaux, etc. for further details. Brandy Williams writes clearly and concisely, offering honest, easy to follow advice. You don't need to speak Sanskrit or Classical Greek to follow Williams' instructions on energy work. *Ecstatic Ritual* is a book which beginners can follow, with foreign terms and unusual ideas explained. Williams does not talk down to readers, but neither does she make things deliberately complicated and difficult. She teaches how to incorporate visualization, role play and sensual touch into work with yourself or with others.

*Ecstatic Ritual* takes a holistic approach to sex: it offers diet tips, advice on self-defense and exercise, and affirmations designed to help readers accept their bodies and give themselves permission to experience pleasure. It offers a program by which beginning sex magicians can change their lives everywhere, not just in the bedroom. Williams also reaches out to same-sex couples and differently-abled people, something skipped by many sex magic manuals. (Although, as she points out in the introduction, things have improved a bit since the first edition was released in 1990).

Immanion Press/Megalithica Books is to be commended for bringing this excellent guide to the junction of religious and erotic ecstasy back into print. If you are a beginner who wants to learn more on the subject, *Ecstatic Rituals* will prove invaluable to you. It's a slender volume, but one that will leave you well equipped for further work in sex magic and spiritual sexuality. Highly recommended.
