Book Description

With an emphasis on the delightfully curvy female foot

Our first Ed Fox title, Glamour From the Ground Up, introduced the heir to the peculiar photographic niche long ruled by the great Elmer Batters. California native Fox had not even heard of Batters when he first started photographing women with an emphasis on their feet. In fact, he thought he was the only young man who checked out a woman’s feet before her face, and most of the time couldn’t meet his models’ eyes for fear they’d discern his secret. Then he became the official foot photographer for Leg Show magazine, just months before Batters’ death, and learned of the big shoes he had to fill at the same time he realized there were thousands of men just like himself—except without the talent to capture their passion on film, or as today, in pixels.

Since then, Ed Fox has become internationally known for a sensual photographic style that captures every curve of a woman’s body, right down to the tips of her toes. In Ed Fox II he brings us voluptuous new models, arresting locations--many blending the desert landscapes of Southern California with Fox’s passion for automobiles--and fantasies mild to extra spicy, all shot in warm, caressing natural light. And, like Glamour From the Ground Up, Ed Fox II comes with a 60-minute original DVD, bringing the still photos to vibrant life.

5.0 out of 5 stars An almost hypnotizing glimpse into heaven... September 21, 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Taschen is a quality publisher. Books from this German publisher always are published using high quality materials. From the boards, the binding, the dust jackets, paper stock, and ink... Taschen has always delivered an exceptional product.

And Ed Fox II is no exception. The dust jacket is thick with two tones of gloss for subtle variations that reflect when tilted. The boards of the book also use two tones of gloss, appearing solid blue at one angle but revealing a large "Ed Fox II" when tilted against the light. The paper stock is thick with the crisp ink travelling all the way to the edge of the paper.

However, the contents of this tome are really what sends it over the 5-star edge.

To begin, Ed Fox offers a three page text introduction (in English, German, and French). The State of the Feet Report. Ed Fox II is unapologetic adult erotica. He explains his attraction to female feet, eyes, and beauty while describing his various career roles and experiences photographing the female model. This introduction offers interesting philosophical questions and is not simply an obligatory artist bio.

TeNeues, another high quality publisher, has also published several collections of artistic nude photography. Russell James, The Morning After (English, German, French, Italian and Spanish Edition), and Rankin's Heidilicious to name but three. Ed Fox II could also be described as an artistic collection of nude photography.

3.0 out of 5 stars Do not judge a book by the cover October 5, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is not about any specific body part, as most Dian Hanson's. It is more like being about beauty.
The pictures are sexy and elegant, but some can consider the book lacks consistence. The themes are
assorted and pictures seem to have been randomly placed across the pages. There is a lot of feet images,
even tough the book is not fetish-oriented.

To make a long story short, if the cover photo is a perfect 10, the rest of the book is an 8, at best.

I'd like to see more extreme curves, more contrast, more "geometric beauty". The book is ok, it just
did not fulfill the expectations the (magnificent) cover created.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Dynamic May 15, 2012
Format:Hardcover
This is a very good book of highly erotic images. Some are purely blatant to the eye while others are extremely subtle. This is an outstanding collection of images with many moods and shades of desires and passions brought to light.

2.0 out of 5 stars Decieving March 13, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
After opening it I was a little disappointed. I was always a fan of women's body in an artful way, but some here were not in my opinion. Most all the pictures are tasteful but I am not really into feet, which there are several photos with them being the subject of the picture.I know feet are a part of the female form. I view a woman's body as the "whole" package not just a single body part.Over all the book is good, but wished I hadn't bought it, there are much better ones out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding work March 19, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ed Fox has taken over where the late great Elmer Batters left off and Ed has raised the bar. His book features gorgeous models, fabulous definition and details within the shots that true foot lovers and leg lovers will thoroughly enjoy. This book should be part of anyone's collection of erotic photography.

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks Can Be Deceiving February 25, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this book because of the cover shot and like most books and Video/DVDs the cover is what sells you on the product. This book cover is one of the best shots in the whole book, which has an abundance of photos. One of the problems is most of the models are not what I'd call really attractive. Most of the shots are done well (content and context) and the technical skill is there but the subjects aren't up to my expectations. The second thing about this and most erotic photo books by caucasian photographers is that it lacks any veriety or contrast. I appreciate the beauty of ALL women including white women, but there is almost always a lack of other ethnic subjects, a little color. All vanilla with no other flavors gets boring quick. It wouldn't hurt to have a little asian, black, hispanic flavor between these pages. Is the photographer like most white photographers appreciation for beauty only limited to white women? A more complete spectrum of color is very greatly desired by myself and many men across the country, if not the world. Come on, can't we expand our vision and present a more open view of female beauty?
