Educational And Entertaining, June 25, 2001
This review is from: Ed Parker's The Zen of Kenpo (Paperback)
As a repository of Mr. Parker's sayings, this is an unmatched resource. Better than your belt charts because it is well-organized, and well-designed. In this regard it is very educational.
It is also very entertaining in that Mr. Parker's sense of humor is apparent in many of his quotes.
If you never spent much time around Mr. Parker this is a good book to have read when you are at seminar and hear someone speaking a quote from the book. If you expect this book to reveal hidden secrets, you should first find a good teacher and study before this book will be much good to you.

Philosophical quotes from a master of Kenpo Karate, June 14, 2009
This review is from: Ed Parker's The Zen of Kenpo (Paperback)
I have always loved quote books of all kinds and my personal library has numerous volumes. The late Ed. Parker was a well-known master of Kenpo Karate. He always took an intellectual approach to his art and this volume of quotes provides an insight into his method of thinking. From A to Z he has quotes for almost any situation. The following are just a few examples of the topics he explores with his quotes. Accomplishment, action, allies of combat, attitude, basics, belt ranking, boastfulness, change, combat wisdom, cowards, death, distance, experience, fame, fear, gifted traits, humility, ideas, logic, power, techniques, weapons and much more. This is the type of book you keep going back to when you need inspiration or just to reenforce your own philosophy of life. This is a book not only for Kenpo students but for anyone involved in the warrior arts. Rating: 3 stars Joseph J. Truncale (Bushi Satori Ryu--Season of the Warrior: A Poetic Tribute to Warriors)
