I am one of those people who used to think horrible things about people who put their kids on leashes. Then I became mom to a very busy and independent little girl who started walking at 9 months. I bought the Harness Buddy for a cruise we were taking when my daughter was 16 months. I couldn't imagine trying to keep up with her on the ship and she will not sit in a stroller for an extended period of time. The first time we used it I started having images of her reacting like what happens when you put a cat on a leash, but she loved it. She enjoys her freedom even if it is limited by the leash. I cannot tell you how many people have commented on how cute it is! It is so soft and cuddly. We now use it in the mall and have seen more and more people with the same Harness Buddy. Oh, and I think the fact that she is getting exercise instead of sitting in the stroller is fantastic. We love it!!

our 2yo is the type to take off at a moments' notice, so it was nice to find this. Indespensible in the airport, mall, or theme parks. I don't recommend overusing it, though.

We bought the bear version of this product to help my little boy stay with us when we're out. He can now escape from the stroller easily, and he is way faster than my pregnant body can keep up with. My husband's cousin's little boys have loved their little "backpacks," and my son was really excited to wear his. However, when we got the harness home, as I was looking at the design of the product, I realized that having the buckles in the FRONT would not work for us--my son knows how to open those kinds of buckles. He would be out of that in a flash! And many other children would be able to escape easily, too. I'm sure that there is a way to design this product with the buckles in back under the backpack so only the parent can access them! We are taking our harness back and getting one with no fasteners in front. Nice idea, but not designed too intelligently.

My 1 year old went from crawling straight to RUNNING. I bought this harness after I set him down in a store while I paid at the checkout, and he was gone in a flash. Luckily, we were the only ones in the small store. It scared me enough to search out a harness. We tried it on at home and it works great! It comes fully assembled, all you do is click the two belts into place. It goes on like a vest. It's light and soft and loose enough to not bother him at all. He wears it around like a backpack and thinks he's pretty awesome with his new accessory. We only use it when we're out shopping and there are no carts for him to sit in, though. But please use it sparingly - if I wanted a wild thing on a leash, I would have bought a puppy.

I have a 3 year old who is developmentally delayed, and she does not understand when you tell her stay here(dangerous situation)! She is too heavy for strollers anymore, so I bought this for visits to the mall, or park etc... It is awesome, she loves to cuddle with it, and it is adjustable to fit larger toddlers as well as the little ones. I was worried about fit, but she has lots of room left on the adjustable straps! The zippered pocket on the back isn't as large as I expected, but since she hasn't gotten to the packrat stage yet, it works fine for us. I do wish the head was slightly lower down, it falls directly behind her own, and if she turns her head a lot, it will tangle her hair, and sometimes she gets mad at the bear for "following" her. It works exactly as intended though, it has already saved her once from getting in the street, good thing that strap is strong, you have never seen a kid move that fast!! overall well worth the money i paid, and if something happened to this one, i would definitely purchase another to replace it!

My husband was definitely the type who felt that a "leash" was cruel or indicative of a parent who was inadequate. But our almost 2 year old son is always on the go. We were afraid at the amusement park we were taking him to he would just take off and get hurt (or worse). We gave him this product as a "toy" to play with before using it at the park. He loved that he was getting his own backpack. It worked exactly as we had hoped while we were out. He had a bit of independence, and we were comforted knowing he couldn't get away from us. Other families commented on how cute it was and we did see another family using another version. In fact, one parent asked us where to find it - they thought it was a great idea. While there were times when he asked for it to be off, overall, he didn't mind it being on. And while we were on rides, we just tucked the "tail" into the backpack part and he simply wore it as a backpack. I think today, it's not mean to be too safe and this is a really sweet and fun way to help that happen, and let him have a bit of fun too.

I have twin toddlers and each has one of these backpacks. They look really cute but obviously safety is the main feature. I can't imagine going out with the boys without their harnesses. I've lost count on the number of times I have been stopped by people asking where to get them. Big change from the negative comments I got from a regular toddler "leash" that I started out with before discovering this fabulous harness. The boys love the bear and don't seem to mind it being a leash too. I definately recommend this to all parents of toddlers to keep them safe and help teach them to walk close to you without any hassle. And for twins...I don't know what I would have done without these. Superb! Must have!

People may say a leash for my kid in inhumane, but I'd rather than they get run over by a car or lost at the mall. My kids love wearing these things, and they look cute. The leash part being on the tail can be a little annoying if my toddler is lagging, and she gets mad cause I'm pulling the tail up over her shoulder.

If you wish to buy a harness do not hesitate to purchase this one! My one-year old loved it, and even wanted to wear it since it is so cute! I felt she was safe and she was more than happy. It was specially practical when we travelled and were visiting crowded places. People would even stop me to ask me where I had purchased this item!

I love this product! It makes the difference between an enjoyable visit to the mall with my almost two-year-old granddaughter, versus one where I spend our quality time chasing her as she sprints pass stairs, passersby, and dangerous objects. The soft backpack design makes wearing the harness comfortable for her. The darling bear keeps [most] folks from staring at me like I'm some kind of nutcase for harnessing a toddler in the first place.
