OK carrier for the price,
By
This review is from: Infant Carrier (Baby Product)
I really like this carrier. I checked out the others but I just couldn't justify the price. This one is very comfortable and easy to get the baby in and out of (after the first few times). I've worn it for extended periods of time and on long walks and it has never hurt my back or shoulders. It fits both my husband and me and is very easy to adjust the fit quickly. My son loves it! He is much happier in this than the car seat or stroller and sometimes falls right to sleep. I even take him grocery shopping in it. A complaint I have is that the straps that adjust the height of the seat tend to slip so my son very slowly gets lower and lower. All in all, this is an OK carrier for the price.
Revised several months later: This carrier actually ending up breaking - though I did use it a lot. We got a used Baby Bjorn from my brother-in-law and it is fantastic. Much more comfortable.

Spend the extra $20 on a Baby Bjorn,
By
This review is from: Infant Carrier (Baby Product)
I registered for this carrier versus the others mainly cause I thought it would be more comfortable due to the hip strap. I thought it would be a nice middle of the road carrier between the more expensive Baby Bjorn and the cheaper Snugli.
Having gotten the carrier and tried it with my baby girl (now 10 weeks old), I've decided to exchange it. The $20 difference to upgrade to a Baby Bjorn is well worth it in my opinion. The straps on the Eddie Bauer carrier slip and need to be constantly readjusted. The carrier itself where the baby sits does not provide much support; the baby does not look as comfortable as in the Baby Bjorn and looks like she's slouching. The Baby Bjorn, even without the hip strap, is much more comfortable to me as well. Bottom line, if cost is an issue, I see little difference between this carrier and the Snugli (other than the Eddie Bauer name which is probably the only reason why this carrier costs more). But if you can, splurge for the Baby Bjorn instead. I did after trying them both.

Terrible,
This review is from: Infant Carrier (Baby Product)
I bought this item and would not recommend it. While the straps tighten to a good fit, the straps loosen in about 5 minutes and I have to re-tighten. It is quite a hassle. I like to take hikes with the dogs and this product is worthless for this purpose. Perhaps this product is made for a walk around the block, but not for the serious walker/hiker. Is it comfortable, though, and if they would fix the strap issue, it would probably be a fairly good carrier.

Great Carrier - Great Price,

I love this carrier. I use it almost every day. It's super simple to put on and take off and my daughter loves it. This carrier was the most comfortable one I tried on in the store and it also fits my husband perfectly.
My daughter loves to be held close all the time, but that makes it hard to get errands and housework done. This carrier is the perfect solution. The carrier padding is very soft and machine washable (a wonderful feature as my daughter tends to spit up a lot). My only complaint is that the straps do tend to slip so I have to readjust them a lot. This is not a big hassle though, the straps tighten easily and I've gotten so used to doing this that I don't even think about it anymore. Overall, this carrier was a wise investment. We have especially enjoyed using it at baseball games and in movie theaters.

Good for the Price,

For the price, the carrier couldn't be beat. The lumbar system for the mid and lower back is great and would compete with some of the more expensive models.
After 2 weeks, we returned it b/c our baby MUCH preferred her sling - she's 6 weeks old. Maybe when she gets older, she'll like being in a carrier but b/c she was facing inward, she did not care for it.

Let me just say there are LOTS of straps and buckles. I registered for this because of the price and my familiarity with Eddie Bauer gear. I figured I'd deal with the straps and I have. It's everyone else that can't figure out how to put it on correctly. And, I haven't noticed the straps slipping with mine.
The thing that has made it unusable for me, now that my daughter is facing front, is the fold-down flap. I basically have to fold down the flap (what used to be the rear head rest when she was facing me), twist the straps, and buckle the the straps to keep the flap down. Otherwise, it's in her face. These straps, where her arms stick through, now rub against my daughter's shoulders. I've tried adjusting the various other straps and buckles (there are a lot!), but with no success. It could be that she's at that in-between size, but she is miserable with the straps rubbing on her shoulders. I haven't checked on returning the carrier since we've had it for 6 months, but I would if I could. I would definitely suggest reading all the reviews on different carriers. You just don't know what to buy until you've had a baby to try them out.

Sometimes Useful,

This carrier is a great idea but not worth all the money. It takes more time trying to figure out the right way to put it on and by the time you do get it on, the baby is too frustrated to be happy riding around in it.
When we do get it figured out...before the baby is already cranky, it works and we can walk around for at least 30 minutes...sometimes longer before he gets tired of sitting in it. However, most of the time he likes being outside and looking around at all the new sites.

My cousin let me use her Snugli carrier when I had my baby. I thought it was horrible - there was no support at all. I had to hold onto the back of my baby's head the entire time and he did nothing but cry while he was in it. I gave her Snugli back to her and bought the Eddie Bauer one instead. I do agree with the other reviewers in that the straps slip and there is no way to keep them from doing so. However, it's very gradual (happens more/faster when you're doing vigorous activities) and it's not a huge deal to tug on the straps to pull them tighter. Also, it only took me one time putting it on to have the straps all figured out, and as long as you pull it off in a normal fashion the straps don't get all twisted and you can put it on easily the next time. I will say that the baby likes it a lot. He's seems very comfortable; his head is supported and he falls asleep every time I put him in it. I also find it to be comfortable for me to wear...well, as comfortable as you can be with a baby strapped to the front of your body while you vacuum!

Wish i had returned it! straps slip .... :(,
This review is from: Infant Carrier (Baby Product)
I bought this carrier when my baby was 6 weeks old and i wanted to use it for a 6 hour flight and in the airports. I had planned ot buy the baby bjorn but it was not available at our local store and i went for this instead hoping itd be similar. Though its comfortable enough for the baby ( i Do uss. have ahand under hsi bottom for support) , the lumbar support has never worked for me.. i can never get it in the right place. and even if i do.. the straps whic h keep the baby held up tend to slip and the baby slips down and the lumbar support slips up where it doesnt help my back in anyway. I wish i had returned it earlier and used the baby bjorn instead. I still use it coz my baby likes bieng carried this way esp facing outside. but i have ot keep tightening the straps every 2 minutes while pulling him up with one hand under his bottom.
Id suggest buying the baby bjorn since i have friends and family who absolutely love it and ue it a lot. Havent tried the other carriers.

My husband registered for this product because of the color, and the front small pocket which is perfect for a cell phone, change, chapstick.(I use it for a pacifier) I will say that initially, it did take awhile to figure out how to put it on. Sometimes all of the straps get messed up and it takes awhile to figure out again before putting it on. Our son loves it. We've been using it since he was about 4 weeks old, He was very needy and wanted to be held. I would wear this around the house to get things done. I will say that it drives me crazy that I constantly need to adjust the straps to hold him up.I've never owned another carrier so I don't know any different.I do however like the back support. I am now able to turn our son around, facing front, and it works very well.
