Great for Family or Scouts!,

We bought this tent and have enjoyed numerous camping experience in varied weather without one problem! It is roomy, weather-proof and oh, so cozy! We blow up our Eddie Bauer self-inflating air mattresses and have tons of room for our gear when we go as a family, and even with bunches of scouts at camp! Being able to stargaze at night through the skylight is awesome!! We absolutely LOVE this tent and recommend it highly!

Lots of room, bad zippers,
By A Customer

This tent sets up quickly and provides ample room for our family of 4 - one of whom is 6'10" tall. Kids like having their seperate spaces, & it's great to get this much tent without needing a special cart to carry it. Just went through a series of thunderstorms in the Sierras & all seams leaked, but that's our fault - didn't seal the seams. However, it was apparent that the fly is not big enough/doesn't cover the tent well enough. If the lower seams had been covered (the seam where the stripe begins at the bottom), we would have had minimal leaks, even w/out sealant. Our only beef: the zippers are not sturdy enough to withstand children going in/out repeatedly. We are down to 2 operational doors - the other two split & do not self-repair.

Instructions need work,

Overall, this tent is ok. The one we got was missing the gear loft (I'm hunting around to see if we can get one), and the instructions sewn into the storage bag looked like they were meant for another model of tent. Not a bonus when you're having to set it up at night using lanterns and flashlights. Even the pictures in the instructions didn't match our tent. In the process, one of the tent poles broke, which made matters worse. Thank goodness for duct tape!Once we got it assembled, it worked fine. Good amount of floor space, but I still don't see how they imagine you're getting 8 people in it, unless they're all packed like sardines and don't have ANY extra gear. As a friend said a while back, take those recommendations, and divide by two, if you plan on having ANYTHING but bodies in the tent. Also, be aware that, no matter what it says about the rain, if you get morning dew, ANY place you touch the tent below the rainfly is going to get a bit damp on the inside. Haven't had a tent yet that didn't do it.

Great tent!,

This is a great tent! The second night of using it we got thunder and torrential rain, it leaked a bit around the ground seams, but nowhere else. With a tarp underneath and another coat of sealant, we don't expect any problems next time. Tons of room inside for everthing you need to bring. Loved the shoe pocket - especially that you can get at it from inside or outside the tent. Gear loft was perfect for hanging wet clothes/towels from. We highly recommend this tent to anyone!

Leaks even in a slight rain,
This review is from: Eddie Bauer 8 Person Sport Dome Tent (Misc.)
We have used this tent twice with no rain at all and there was no problem. However this weekend it started to rain and we waked up in the water. The rain was not heavy at all but the doors (zips) were leaking and the worst part is that the top cover is not large enough to keep the rain out of the doors. We are very frustrated now. I am now planing to buy another tent.

Wet and collapses in wind,
By A Customer
This review is from: Eddie Bauer 8 Person Sport Dome Tent (Misc.)
First time we used it a small windy rain storm came through and a pole broke and collapsed the whole tent drenching everything within. We had to pack up everything in the pouring rain with 3 kids and a dog and end our trip 2 days early. And our friend with an alot cheaper tent were fine and stayed and enjoyed the rest of there trip!!!!!!!!!! Do not recommend for anyone!!!!

Great Space for the great outdoors.,

We borrowed the tent from a friend, and had a great time. The Rainfly was missing, however, we had another tarp. We would like to purchase new cover if anybody has an idea. The ease of two different entry ways was helpful. We had a bad rain storm and found that there was some leakage around the seams, side and baseline. It was very easy to assemble and take down.

This tent is a wet lemon!,

I used this tent once on a sunny trip and all was good. I recently used this tent for the second time and it rained. I was extremely disappointed at the amount of rain that leaked into the tent from almost every seam. Living in Washington we don't usually let the rain get us down but waking up soaked has a way of ruining a good weekend. If there is ANY chance of rain in your camping forecast I highly recommend NOT BUYING this tent. I wish it rained on my first trip so I knew what I was getting and returned it then. If you do get this tent keep the receipt as long as the product has a warranty because after 90 days Target will not stand by their product and return no matter how badly the product performs.

Great Family Tent,

I have had this tent for 3 years. I use it to take the kids camping. Set up is easy for 1 person. Here's the best part!!! The door zipper finally gave out. The tent has a lifetime guarantee. I packed it up and sent it back. I just received a brand new 2004 model tent. I can't wait to try it out!!

Great tent but watch for leaks around the doors,
By
This review is from: Eddie Bauer 8 Person Sport Dome Tent (Misc.)
I bought this tent last september, have used it twice. In dry weather it's a champ, In wet weather, beware of puddles around each of the four doors but the rest stayed dry. It looks to me like the zippers were not waterproofed (or even that waterproof zippers weren't used) when the tent was produced and you can watch the water drip off the bottom lip around each zipper.
In fairness, the doors always are a place where a LOT of tents have leak issues, the leaks could also be caused by the single layer of fabric beneath the door, should be thicker. All in all, a very easy tent to set up and take down and is very spacious inside the main dome, you can't stand up in the side rooms. A very spacious and comfortable tent for two people, I don't think I'd like sleeping in the side rooms, I use them for gear.
