Working already after two days!,

Installed this in a new to me house. The people that built the house put plumbing in the garage so a water softener could be installed at a later date. It never was so it doesn't get any easier than wrapping the pipe and plugging the unit into an outlet right next to it in the garage. I had already determined that I was not going to deal with the salt bags and an old school water softener. I have the test strips and after two days it had already lowered the hardness level. The company says give it three months so I would assume it will get better over time. For the price and the lifetime warranty this gadget is staying put. Bottom line for me at the end of the day if it lowers the hardness of the water dishes are cleaner and clothes might actually get clean. The drinking water out of the filtered refrigerator was lower but not low enough according to EPA standards so if this gadget works the ice and drinking water may get in the healthy zone. I am very impressed since units like this sell for 4 times the price without a lifetime warranty. It was worth the money and the 15 minute install although I am sure finding the correct pipes will be harder for most households.

I did a 2 month review on all available descaler systems. Very educating!
I chose Eddy Electronic Descaler Water System. One big reason...the warranty. I received my order within a week and installed it in about an hour. I made a mistake installing it by drilling too small of a hole in the wall because my waterline in outside. To get my power to it, I didn't want a big hole in the wall so in the process of getting the wire through the small hole, I broke off the wire by pulling too hard on it. Well, after I told me how stupid I was, I emailed Eddy Company and explained what I had done. They send they would send me a replacement immediately......they would not let me pay for it! That told me what kind of a company I was dealing with right then. I did receive the replacement and have my unit operating now for about 3 weeks. I will followup in about two months to give a report about it's result since I understand it will take about that long for the scale to all break up in the water heater, dishwasher, shower heads etc. I am eager to see the results....and so are two of my neighbors!!! Again, I do hope to report on the results around the middle of April. AMAZON HAD THE BEST PRICES I COULD FIND AS USUAL....THANKS AMAZON!!!! RRH Arizona

I did what I would consider to be a fair amount of research into this device vs. filters (or both) and opted to give it a try first. One selling point is that this unit has a 12 month NO QUESTIONS ASKED return policy and when you look at their site and read, read, read... they ask customers to have an open mind for at least 3 months. That to me is easy enough to do. After placing the order, it arrived 2 days later thanks to PRIME. The device looks exactly like on the website and installation was a snap. It took barely 20 minutes. Reading the instructions are worthy though to make sure you wrap the pipe in the correct direction (actually, direction doesn't matter as long as both wires are wrapped in the same direction. Anyhow... now it's just a matter of giving this time to see if it works. Where i will notice the most is, i have a warm mist humidifier in the bedroom. I have a large green tupperware container and the unit sits inside that. Of course, with my water as hard as it is, there is white limescale all over the tupperware container. Just a drop of water is all it takes... once it dry's... white limescale streak. Anyhow, around the same time as installing the Eddy, i installed a new warm mist humidifer. I noticed after just about 2 weeks of using the Eddy and new Warm Mist Humidifier... that there was a "sludge" in the humidifier around the heating element. I have never seen this before. I used a turkey baster to suck out that sludge. There was also, as expected, considerable build up of hardened lime on the heating element. I was hoping to not have seen that, so the jury is out. It's the sludge i found most fastinating because i've never seen that before. I'm now considering installing a Culigan Stage 4 filter just AFTER the EDDY to capture more of this sludge as the Lime is changed from scale into something different. I need to contact the manufacturer again, to ask their thoughts about where the filter should go, if it should go immediately following the EDDY or further down line. Maybe this is too premature too, for again, i keep reminding myself that EDDY did ask for a 3 month trial, so maybe i just need to do the time and see where things are at that point. So far, I have not noticed the showers getting better. I have not noticed any difference in boiling water. I have not noticed any difference with the clothes from the washing machine nor dishes from the dishwasher. If/When i start to notice these things, i will post. For now... my concentration is actually on the heating element in the warm mist humidifiers. Thanks
