Product Description

Much more than a direct box, the WTDI is like bringing a little Eden preamp to every stage and studio gig. Always have one handy in your gigbag, case or pedal board. Use it to Edenize that junk box of an amp they gave you for backline at the gig by going direct into the power amp section.

Customer Reviews

It's a little too noisy for me and adds a loud buzz.

What we found was that the compressor and bass boost really give your head way more depth.

It can do smooth and melodic which is what I prefer, or it can do more modern tones.

A very good product that won Bass Player magazine's Editor's award. I soon found out why...it has a massive bass boost, very clean sound, the compression is simple to operate and effective, good to have on your pedal board for bass. Also an excellent DI for acoustic guitar.

What is there to say? It's Eden after all. The sound is incredible. Solid construction, good feel to the knobs, and everything works as it should.

Other reviewers have all complained about the blue light being bright, but I don't think that accurately describes it. Picture walking outside blindfolded and opening your eyes up looking at the sun during a solar flare. That's about how bright this thing is. I've colored it with a sharpie, and after several coats it's manageable. On the bright side, this can be used as a spot/signal light in case of emergency.

Do not have much time to write this review, however, simply put, this thing is amazing. I'll try to focus on first impressions and update as I go along.

(1) the Calirity is improved drastically with bass guitars, acoustic guitars (Martin Guitar) adding a clean sound with enhanced lows.
(2) smooth sound, and the pedals cleans up hiss, electrical hum on my old setup, PA's and on stage monitors.
(3) Manual gives details on how unit works, detailing cut offs with compression.

Will try this with a Yahama Digital Drum set, hoping that sound will be enhanced :)

Note: By enhanced, I mean the lows are brought out without disrupting the rest of the sound. High's are also brought out that complement the lows. This is with having All the settings (knobs) flat (at 12 O'clock)

All I knew is I needed a direct box because I was going to use the house PA for my bass. Now, I also needed some kind of IEM or small amp for stage monitoring but thats a story for a different day. I purchased the Eden WTDB because it got a solid review in Bass Players Mag and it is a direct box. I am more than happy with the result. It allows me to create a bass sound with the bouyancy I never thought possible. My notes almost bounce off the fretboard and I would not think of playing live without it even if I did not go into the house PA. It also quiets any external noise interference that I had before and I did have some. No hums, static or electrical interference anymore. The preamp must weed them out. Very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend this to a friend.

Excellent pedal, very versatile in the tones you can get from it. It gave my passive Jazz bass some powerful thump. It can do smooth and melodic which is what I prefer, or it can do more modern tones. The compressor is excellent to clean up your playing, and the enhance is helpful when you dial in just the right amount. I run this in front of my amp, and it has really improved my tone.

This pedal is the single best addition to my tone since I started using Avalon U5's

I have a 15 year old Curbow signature Cort 5 string bass that I got when I was studying jazz performance in college. I have always loved the action on this bass. I can play other basses fine, but they never feel as natural as my Cort. The problem is, I don't love it's sound.

Enter the Eden world tour DI box premp. As other reviewers have said, Eden could make a pedal with just the enhance nob and it would be worth it. What ever frequencies it pulls out or boosts, it makes ever bass I plug into it sound amazing.

I run the compressor pretty hot and it's taken my low B string from being thumpy and out of control, and really gets it to sit in place. Fat and round and buttery.

The bass boost button adds so much low end, that with it on I actually have to pull the bass tone nob down a little. Once again, it's a very controlled sound, that evens out my tone.

The only thing to be aware of, as soon as you plug this pedal in it's on. When you stomp on the foot switch, you actually engage the bypass. The only pedal I've ever owned where the red light coming on meant my signal was not passing through the circuitry.

One of my bands recently moved over to a full in-ear monitoring system, and this pedal works perfectly for that. Because my tone is super controlled, and smooth, across all 5 strings, it sits perfectly in the headphone mix. I dominate the low end, and stay out of the keys' and guitar's way.

I've played some excellent gigs with this DI box, but unfortunately this is the 2nd WTDI I've owned. After a month and a half, the electronics are already starting to fail, starting with a howling sound just like the 1st one purchased. This unit is built in China, and Eden must do something with quality control, or suffer the consequences of reputation spreading to working bass players. Fortunately, I bought a protection plan knowing this box may fail, and hopefully send me a better di box.

I purchased this WTDI with an eye to ditch the ragtag bass amp we've employed at a weekly church service for years. That's proven to be far too narrow a vision for such a feature-full product. The WTDI is an excellent bass preamp for the money, and it's controls are very responsive. I even like the single-knobbed compressor. But I also tried it out with a Taylor acoustic guitar which boasts their Expression System pickup on board to heavenly results. That particular pickup has given me a hard time in the past - always fiddling, but never fully satisfied with the tone. But the WTDI offered a scope of controls that paired surprisingly well, and it did it for less than most of the acoustic preamps I've considered.
