Mysterious, Alternate History Of Ancient Egypt,
By
This review is from: Edgar Cayce's Egypt: Psychic Revelations on the Most Fascinating Civilization Ever Known (Paperback)
This book provides an alternate history of ancient Egypt which is very different from what you're going to see on The History Channel.
Cayce himself is a central figure in this story in the form of the priest Ra Ta. It cannot be pure coincidence that others who were with Ra Ta during that time also spoke with Edgar Cayce. There were some key events in Ra Ta's experience which are: 1) migration into Egypt of Ra Ta and other Atlanteans as Atlantis went down for the final time as a result of the mysterious activities of the "Sons Of Belial". as the Atlanteans entered Egypt they had some things they wanted to do there including preserving a history of Atlantis in The Great Pyramid and the "Hall Of Records" which is still buried under the Giza plateau waiting to be discovered. 2) conspiracy against Ra Ta in Egypt which involved getting him to violate his own law of monogamy by forcing the lovely temple dancer "Isis" to seduce him. this is when "the gods laughed at the weakness of the individual, or the priest". (yes it was quite comical). Ra Ta was exiled as a result. 3) while in exile Ra Ta somehow reversed the aging process and made himself young again. eventually people wanted him to return to Egypt which he did. 4) creation of a new religion, helping the "things" become normal again, construction of the monuments on the Giza plateau and other mysterious temples. This book answers many questions about ancient Egypt but raises so many more. Cayce tended not to talk too much about the technical details of how mysterious things were done such as using anti gravity forces to build the pyramids. He seems to focus more on the spiritual truths behind these things. However he does mention these mysterious subjects that many people are interested in. Other books provide more technical details about some of these things although even in those cases many questions remain. This book is over 500 pages of pure Edgar Cayce psychic readings with no editing or other fillers. Because of the unusual way that Cayce spoke while in his hypnotic state it takes some time to read this book. A Superb Encyclopedia on Ancient Egypt,

This review is from: Edgar Cayce's Egypt: Psychic Revelations on the Most Fascinating Civilization Ever Known (Paperback)
This book is really an extremely comprehensive and fascinating encyclopedia of everything Edgar Cayce (while in trance) ever said about pre-historic Egypt around 10,500 B.C. As such it's an invaluable reference for anyone interested in this topic.
There are hundreds of sub-headings, so at a glance it's possible to read all of Cayce's information on any topic that interests the reader. The topics run from politics to religion to family to sex to ancient technology to the pyramids and Sphinx and on and on to any topic touching Egyptian life in those ancient times. I found it very useful to have this book at hand while reading the latest books on the pyramids and Sphinx such as Christoper Dunn's THE GIZA POWER PLANT, Hancock and Bauval's `THE MESSAGE OF THE SPHINX and (for those who really want to understand the process of initiation in the Great Pyramid) Earlyne Chaney's INITIATION IN THE GREAT PYRAMID. I and others own the Cayce CD which includes all the psychic readings, but there is no way the CD can replace this comprehensive and carefully organized volume (with comprehensive indexing). Highly recommended for anyone who wants more information on our true history and ancestry. At almost 600 pages it's not a book to read so much as a reference for the topics that most interest the reader. The reader also has to adjust to Cayce's way of speaking, which in this case is apparently a translation done on the fly into English from ancient languages. The text also lets us know the link between Atlantis and ancient Egypt. There is no other source available today which gives so much information about the Egyptian civilization of long ago.

A History Of Egypt You Won't Read In Any History Book,

This review is from: Edgar Cayce's Egypt: Psychic Revelations on the Most Fascinating Civilization Ever Known (Paperback)
The book is a compilation of readings that Edgar Cayce gave throughout his life that referenced Eqypt. They were then divided by subcategories and put into book form.
Although some of the information was absolutely fascinating, certain chapters were repetitious, and I had to fight off boredom, barely making it through. The book is definitely worth reading if you aren't married to the Egyptologists' theory.

Tree Waster,
By Joy Archer (Central USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Edgar Cayce's Egypt: Psychic Revelations on the Most Fascinating Civilization Ever Known (Paperback)
This 538 pages of text is a "Tree Waster"! They could have eliminated at least 150 pages by not repeating the first couple of sentences of each reading. The main focus is on Ra Ta, the high priest that migrated into Egypt and was supposedly one of the past incarnations of Edgar Cayce. It is the classic triangle long before Camelot, the King (supposedly Hugh Lynn Cayce) and the High Priest with their eye on the same beautiful lady named Isis. It is the old chestnut of "Do as I say, not as I do!" There is very little information concerning life in ancient Egypt. It is amazing that everyone is either a princess, priestess, member of the king's household, ruler, leader, director, or princes. There is not one peasant to be found! The book reeks of Eugenics, a concept heavely promoted by Hitler and his crowd and William Shockley, one of the inventors of the transistor. There is an emphasis on Ra Ta being one of the very first "really white" persons. It is beyond my comprehension why "white", which is various shades of pink, is so highly valued. Your actions and intentions behind your actions are what is most important in this life. These are determined by your brain and heart which are the same color in all humans. "El" is stated to mean at least four different things throughout the book. In the index there are 9 pages listed under Astrology and there are also 9 other pages that refer to astrology that are not listed. This book tries to put astrology and anything "occult" in an unfavorable light. That shows what an editor can do. The book "Astrology and the Edgar Cayce readings" published in 1967 is very favorable toward astrology. The people in charge of the ARE have obviously changed. Ra Ta preached the "Law of One", meaning one God and yet the big irony is Ra Ta and his illicit second wife, Isis, later become two of the many Gods and Goddesses of the Egyptian religion. This book is good for two things. It would be a great place for a new parent to find some very unusual names and it is a great sleeping pill. I would highly recommend Harman Bo's 1994 book "Edgar Cayce: A Seer Out of Season" to get a clear picture of Edgar Cayce's many gifts to the human race. Edgar Cayce can correctly be called the "Father of Holistic medicine". To learn about ancient Egypt I recommend any book by John Anthony West and Graham Hancock. I would not give this book even one star but can't figure out how to override the system!

Not for skeptics,
This review is from: Edgar Cayce's Egypt: Psychic Revelations on the Most Fascinating Civilization Ever Known (Paperback)
While this book is interesting, it is decidedly not for skeptics. Being a skeptic myself, my first reaction, after reading several of the accounts in the book, was that this is sheer fantasy. I had hoped to find something to challenge my skeptical reaction to the various claims and prophecies of Edgar Cayce, but find I need to look elsewhere for that.
