Simone Gabbay is a registered nutritional consultant in Toronto, Canada. This, her latest book, gives anyone serious about losing weight the tools to effectively do so. It is well-written, well-researched, and just downright interesting. Topics include diet, exercise, water, sleep, stress, and food supplements. It even contains 45 healthy recipes to assuage your appetite. I highly recommend this book!

I have personally known Simone's work as columnist for the Edgar Cayce organization's magazine "Venture Inward" since the 1980s. As art director for that magazine I looked forward to her every column, for the impressive and practical knowledge that she brought to them. I share her deep interest and application of Mr. Cayce's readings' on diet and health; I can tell you that it WORKS. And she's the reigning authority on this topic in my book!

The degree and quality of wellness I have experienced from even imperfect application of this information over the past 45 years has added so much to my health and "youthfulness"! People can't believe I'm the age I am. But I began applying it at age 27, and I am now 72! Except for an antibiotic reaction, once, I've never been in a hospital and have rarely (I mean RARELY!) ever visited a physician for any physical problems! I consider diet essential in keeping to this level of wellness!

In this book Ms. Gabbay spells out what YOU need to know to lose weight, as well as to improve your life and health! It's all "of a piece." What Cayce considered a "normal diet" will automatcially bring your weight under control.

If you don't know what each bite of food you put in your mouth will do, or not do, you should consider your eating to be a form of Russian roulette! Deadly!

Cayce's dietary recommendations are both extremely simple/sensible, and somewhat challenging to put into practice if you truly try to follow them in detail. Even without being overly OCD about it, a general application of these concepts and specifics will do you a vast amount of good! And, just know that ANY movement you make toward revising what you do, or do NOT, eat is movement in the right direction. Trust Simone Gabbay's book to guide you with gentleness, encouragement, and ease in that direction. BUY THIS BOOk!

One person reviewed this book as "crazy." Well, in my opinion, they could not be more wrong.

I had never heard of Edgar Cayce before buying this book, but now I want to learn more about him. As a person who has experienced an out-of-body experience (and I'm not crazy!) I am fascinated with his story and want to learn more. There is much in this world that we do not understand after all.

But about the book - common sense stuff here, BUT some fabulous recipes are included. I've tried the Hearty Brown Lentil Soup and it was totally YUM.
(and I have not been particularly fond of lentils prior). I have also tried the Asian Cabbage Stir Fry, and everyone lapped it up with great relish.

As to the common sense aspects of this book - drink more water, get more sleep, exercise more - that is all in there too, BUT Cayce suggests adding lemon or lime to your water to increase the alkaline. Well, I don't know about alkaline but I now add a splash of lime to my water and find myself drinking more.

Since following the simple guidelines as outlined in this book, I am sleeping better, my skin is better and I HAVE dropped a few pounds.
Great little book - I highly recommend it!

Was slightly disappointed in this Edgar Cayce book. I have read many Cayce books but this by far is not a good read.
