About the Author

Charles Ogden is an avid camper and fisherman. He collects insects and has traveled in pursuit of various specimens to the North Pole, the Souh Pole, and Poland. Mr. Ogden and his insect collection make their home in a cool, dry, preservation-friendly environment, far removed from prying eyes.

Rick Carton has been drawing longer than he's been walking. In his Chicago studio he has a cherished collection of every pencil ever worn down to a nub during his lengthy artistic career. He has never formally studed art; instead, the art community has diligently studied him. They are yet to release their findings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stories, Great Gift, December 3, 2007
This review is from: Edgar & Ellen Triple Threat: Their First Three Misadventures (Rare Beasts / Tourist Trap / Under Town) (Hardcover)
This box set contains the first three misadventures of the mischievous twins Edgar and Ellen who live in the idyllic town of Nod's Limbs. I bought it for my 10-year-old brother for his birthday and he enjoyed them all so much that I picked up the books after him to see what was so great. Even though I'm 23, I found the stories engaging and fun. It was refreshing to see children's stories that were so entertaining without a whole lot of over-moralizing. They also had a great range of vocabulary that kids that age may not have been introduced to yet, in sentences where the meanings could be understood. As a kind of second mom to my brother I really like to see him learning and having fun as he reads. These would be great books for kids who don't like to read too. I'm glad I got the box set for my brother because they are all fast paced and once you finish one, you can't help but want to go right on to the next. These books get my best recommendation for gifts for holidays, birthdays, etc. for any kid between the ages of 8-12.

After all with the removal of the junk yard, where will the twins get all of the materials to create all of their devious plots? The twisted twins create new schemes to foil the plans of the mayor and derail his festivities and keep the junk yard safe forever!
