I am a Children's lay pastor. I spent hours looking for Bibles for kids in the 8-16 year-old range. I had my 9-year-old son helping me, and we looked at all sorts of "kid-friendly" Bibles. I wanted something with the complete, undiluted Truth, but with some extras that draw kids into the Bible. My son chose this as one of his top 3, along with "Teh Boys Bible (NIV)" and "KidsBible.com".

This bible s filled with color, sidebars, and other features that make it more enticing. I found myself picking it up and thumbing through it after we bought it, and really liking the information and questions in the sidebars. It also has a devotional plan that takes kids through the Bible and teaches as it goes, encouraging Bible reading. Good stuff.

I find that the extra content draws chldren in and helps them make sense of what happened several centuries before. I don't see it as belittling God's Word, but rather encouraging kids to get more out of it.

It arrived at the time they said it would and it was excatly what was advertised. BTW - It cost me less than at the book stores.

This Bible is great for children ages 8-12. It includes devotions for each day that are related to kids with a prayer they can pray. There are several kids that share about themselves and how the Word helps them. The power thoughts are age appropriate. I am impressed with this Bible and my grandkids age 8 and 10 just love it.

The Edge is perfect for young children even as young as 8 or 9. My grandson reads it ,and has no problem understanding ! It is very age appropriate .
