5.0 out of 5 stars What I've been looking for
I have wanted a treadmill for years, of course I didn't look all that hard and all I ever saw were the ones that sell for hundreds or thousands of dallars. I finally thought ok I'll find one I can make payments on, but I really don't care for all the wistles and bells, just walking, I can tell when I've walked twenty minutes. I found these here on amazon and the reveiws...

2.0 out of 5 stars It's a real workout!
This product description is correct concerning putting the unit together and the portablity of the unit. What it doesn't say is that you really get a workout. No matter what incline it is in, it feels as though you are walking up a hill in sandy soil. If you want a strenuous workout, then this unit is for you. If you simply want the unit just to simulate normal...

I finally thought ok I'll find one I can make payments on, but I really don't care for all the wistles and bells, just walking, I can tell when I've walked twenty minutes. I found these here on amazon and the reveiws of this one looked good enought for me. Bought it and holy moly, this thing is great, fifteen to twenty minutes on this and I've had a GREAT work out, the machine is built very well, very sturdy, very easy to set up, great workmanship and design. And I could pay for it in one lump sum, great, go for it.....

4.0 out of 5 stars decent, March 11, 2006
This is a pretty good value, for the price.

I'd like to point out, that you need to hold the handle bars to stay on this self powered runner, and that's not SUCH a great thing, as you're not supposed to hold handle bars on runners, if you want to achieve the full potential of your movements....

Pro: It does fold easily, and doesn't take up all that much room when in storage position.

Again, for the price, this is a fair item. I'm not sorry I purchased it. Another pro: it's not loud while in use, as some can be.

You get what you pay for, if you want some mind blowing piece of work out gear, you'll have to spring for more. ;>

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Machine, January 28, 2006

I bought this machine after reading reviews for it and most were not good. I must say I'm glad I ignored them-It's a great bargain for someone who doesn't have the money to spend on an electric one. While adjusting the belt can be alittle difficult once you have it set there usually isn't any need to adjust it further.I am disabled & a klutz but I feel comfortable on this because it goes the same pace I do.My only complaint and it's a small one, is with the readout panel-if you're not careful it may fall off-there needs to be a better way to attach it. Otherwise, a great treadmill for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars good deal, March 28, 2006
I bought this to replace an electric treadmill that was too big for my space. I am happy with the treadmill because it is portable and stores easily. It is necessary to keep the belt oiled underneath in order to walk without much friction..That has not been a problem,though..

The only drawback is that I am not comfortable walking without holding onto the siderails..It is more difficult to control the speed by simply walking with arms swinging(or holding a book to read)as I did with my electric treadmill.

All in all, however, it has been worth the time and money spent for the treadmill.I can easily move it from room to room and put it away when done.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yes, I would buy it again., March 14, 2006
This machine is a great buy for the price. It was simple to put together, doesn't take up much room and is easy to use. There is just a little noise when you are walking, but nothing the TV can't drown out.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best product ever, December 18, 2005

This review is from: Edge 500 Manual Treadmill (Sports)
This is the best, easiest, and cheapest treadmill ever. I like to run track and jog in the park and this is great practice at home. It says you speed, how far you travelled, and its so easy to use. Thanks to this, I'm doing better in track, lost weight fast and easy, and getting more trophies. And in response to the woman who gave it one star, how are you supposed to think that you can run and stay balanced on it if your pregnant ?

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Many Problems, January 18, 2007

This review is from: Edge 500 Manual Treadmill (Sports)
I have used treadmills for years & got this one about 2 months ago. First off I called the manufacturer before purchasing to determine if this treamill had a flat horizontal setting. They told me it did. When I got it I found they had lied. NO it does not. All settings are at an incline. About a week after the return policy was no longer in effect, the console readout went on the blitz. It resets all reading every minute or so back to zero. The tread is nicely centered, but it often sticks and stops my gaite cold. They suggested white lithium grease, but that does not solve the sticking problem. Am I the only one who got a lemon? Most reports on this model are pretty good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great price, but takes some getting used to..., April 16, 2007

You absolutely can't beat the price of this treadmill. I have been using it for a month, and I have found it to be a solid piece of equipment. It does take a little bit of effort to get used to the incline at first without falling off or constantly stopping. Since this is a manual treadmill, you're relying on gravity and your own feet to move the belt. It certainly gave my ankles and back a workout the first few times. The electronic meter is a bit wonky and sometimes it resets if I stop for a split second. But otherwise, I can't complain. It's a great workout and it's built pretty solid. I'm over the maximum user weight, but the treadmill still feels solid and works great for me. It's a little small for my 6'3" self, but I can still hold onto the handlebar with my fingers. I wish it folded a little flatter so I could stick it under my bed, but if you have a high bed you won't have any problem shoving this underneath (I just stand it against the bedroom wall). Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price, January 14, 2007
I wore out my last treadmill and was looking for something smaller, quieter and inexpensive. This was a great find. Takes a little getting used to after a motorized treadmill, but love it now. Only negative is the height of the handle bars. I'm 5'8" and took a few times to find the right stance without bending over.
