Book Two,
By
This review is from: Edge of Fear (The Men of T-FLAC: The Edge Brothers, Book 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
Long ago, there was a secret society of wizards whose sole purpose was to protect the innocent from evil at any cost. They were forced to hide themselves. Soon, normal people forgot about wizards and stopped believing in magic. Today, the three Edge brothers (Gabriel, Caleb, and Duncan) carry on the legacy. They are special operatives with the secret paranormal branch of T-FLAC. This is Caleb's story.
Caleb is still recovering from a serious injury. Unable to stand being idle, he convinces his boss, Lark, to give him a minor task and help break the monotony. Caleb is assigned to find out the location of Brian Shaw, international banker to some of the biggest terrorist groups in the world. Shaw disappeared, along with money belonging to over twelve terrorist groups, about a year ago. T-FLAC has found Heather Shaw, the banker's daughter, in San Francisco under a different name. Caleb is to meet Heather, convince her to trust him, find out where her father is hiding, and report in his whereabouts. Problem is that Heather won't, or can't, help him. Heather has no idea why her father told her to disappear until he contacted her to say it was safe. Taking his advice to heart, she is now hiding in plain sight. She is learning to stand on her own two feet. No servants, not using any of her bank accounts or credit cards, modest apartment, and even earning her way by creating custom jewelry for customers. When Caleb bumps into her life, literally, everything changes. **** This is the middle Edge brother. His special talent is time travel. The author adds a twist to this story early on, having Heather become pregnant by Caleb. Of course, the unborn child is male. He is also a wizard. Mommy's little boy for sure! Since this happens early in the story, it's no secret/spoiler, and it is vital to the plot. More than that, I can't say. Simply take my word when I say that I was in no way disappointed with this episode of the Edge brothers. Drama, drama, drama! **** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

I don't know quite what to say about this book... This is the second book in the trilogy and while I found the first book to be a bit hokey, at least it was somewhat different and readable. This book is all over the place. There are so many holes in the story that it left me feeling frustrated. Also, the author has an annoying habit of just repeating the same facts ad nauseam instead of developing the storyline and working on character development.
I like this author (or at least did) and I was looking forward to something new from her. Unfortunately, this book felt like a complete a waste of time.

OK, end of a hot, tiring week and I was grouchy as could be. Grabbed this book at the grocery store out of desperation and went home and read the reviews. Bummer! Sounded like a dog BUT I started reading and to my surprise this is a really solid book to add to this series. Yes, there is repetition but the "Curse" is so tightly thought out that the repetition is like examing a puzzle box for a flaw to create an "out". The male and female leads are consistent in their intense emotions and make good, logical decisions based on the information they have. Then there are a couple of crackerjack plot twists at the end--I didn't see them coming AT ALL-- that end the story just perfectly. Seldom am I left guessing at where a story is going but this was a goodie and the strongest of the series so far. However, the next one is previewed in the back of the book and now I can't wait. Well done and fun!

A good fast paced read. I had a hard time putting it down and couldn't wait to start on the final book in this series.
If you like suspense, romance and paranormal books, this is one you should read.

Not Up to Par,
This review is from: Edge of Fear (The Men of T-FLAC: The Edge Brothers, Book 9) (Mass Market Paperback)
First, let me preface my comments by saying I love Cherry Adair and her T-FLAC series. I've read them all and loved them all...until now. This book just wasn't up to par.
I'd previously read book 8 in the Edge series so I thought I knew what to expect with the wizard/supernatural premise of the books. BUT I WAS WRONG. I found it difficult to take the way the "rules" of the wizard realm were constantly changing to fit the needs of the plot line. Or a new "rule" would suddenly be revealed and even then it didn't always seem to fit. The reconcilitations at the end of both books were irrational, nonsensical and unbelievable. I just couldn't follow they're thought processes and conclusions. I don't want to give the endings away but they just seemed to wrap themselves up in this nice little package that left me empty. There were a couple redeeming graces: First, the tender scenes were well written and full of emotion; if only the hero actually believed what he was saying. And I loved the story of how they met. If you're new to Cherry Adair, pick up the first books in the T-FLAC series and forego the paranormal trilogy. You'll love them, I promise.

I was pleased with the condition of the book when it arrived. I have never ordered new/used books online but now I will continue doing so. The author is one of my favorites and I enjoyed her portrayal of each character. I read for my own pleasure and I was definitely entertained.

This is my first Cherry Adair. I thought it was super! I like that her characters tend to think like real people might, like me...maybe. Her female leads aren't vapid at all. They have a bit of substance to them without getting to Wuthering heights. There were twists and turns, it was funny. One drawback, she tends to be a little repetitive, but the story makes up for it. I will definitely read other books my Ms. Cherry and hope you do too!

This was one of those books that had everything. It had wonderful action scenes, a beautiful and touching romance, and a little bit of magic. The actions scenes were descriptive and exhilarating, the romance was funny, touching and sad all at the same time. I highly recommend this series from Cherry Adair.
