Not Happy,

I was very excited to order this bike. As I started to put it together I noticed that some of the prepackaged parts for assembly were missing! I still attempted assembly and noticed that pre-drilled holes weren't even close to being inline with the display! The largest drawback and thing that upset me was that I didn't pay close enough attention when purchasing this - it is DOES NOT allow for adjustment from seat to pedals. I'm 6'3" tall, and not being able to adjust for my height makes this completely unusable.

One of the best values on the market,
This review is from: Edge 284 Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
I am not sure what some others are complaining about. The cpu is fairly easy to use and calculates just about anything you could want, in fact it is larger and more advanced than any bike I have seen in this price range, which makes it a great buy. The heartrate monitor also works better than many treadmills I have owned in the past.
Other than that, there is nothing too noteworthy about the bike, but it certainly gets the job done. Plenty of programs and enough tension for even more advanced riders. The workmanship is not spectactular in some places, some of the parts are welded together in a rough fashion, but I have used it for several months and it still seems sturdy and fairly well built.

I searched around for a good recumbent bike to use here at home when I couldn't make it to the gym. I found this one here on Amazon and took the free shipping offer. It arrived within ten days and today my husband put it together. From the time he opened the box and I tried it out it took less than one hour. He took a coffee break during that time. The instructions were easy to follow---it came with all the tools needed for assembly. The only minor problem is that one of the support feet was bent, probably during shipping. But he used a wrench and bent it back into place to seat the screws properly. This bike is relatively quiet and on my first usage I worked up a good sweat and got my heart rate into the fat burning zone. It was a good one hour work out and I will be using it daily. If today's workout is any judge...I would recommend this recumbent bike to anyone looking for a modestly priced home bike.

After 10 months of light/moderate use, the belt shredded. A replacement cost me $20. After complaining again when the new belt shredded within a few months, customer service sent me another one, which also shredded. Customer service now refuses to do anything unless I choose to disassemble, package, and ship back the entire unit at my own expense.
Given the quality of the product and the service I have received, I will never buy from this company again.

Not perfect, but good for the price,
This review is from: Edge 284 Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
The bike arrived in fine condition, no problems with bent or rusty parts like other people have reported. It was really easy to assemble. Once I had assembled it I tried it out and found that it made a really annoying noise as the wheel went around - as if the gears were scraping against something. So, I undid all the screws (a pain) and opened the plastic-enclosed base. There was a bracket that was meant to hold the pulse wires out of the way, but the adhesive on it had worn off or something and it was just kind of hanging, and would interfere with the gears. So I taped it to the side, closed the plastic up, and that was that.
Since then the bike has worked really well. I wish there was more ability to move it back - it is a good length for me but I can see how someone taller could have trouble with it. The seat is not terribly comfortable, which gets to be a problem on longer rides, but it's fixable with a pillow or cushion. The console is great - has all the information displayed all the time. Plenty of resistance. Overall there are some problems with it, but for under two hundred dollars, I suppose I can't complain too much. Definitely worth the money.

I purchased this bike to add to my little home gym. It is a great bike for the price. I especially love the programs to make things more challenging. The only major downfall is that the heart rate monitor doesn't seem to work very well but that is not a big deal to me!

Very Good For The Price,
This review is from: Edge 284 Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
Caught the bike on an xmas promo for $150.00 and free shipping. To be honest at that price I wasn't expecting much. The bike shipped promptly and was delivered with no damage. I was able to assemble it in 1/2 hour with provided tools. The bike is heavily constructed and has a solid feel. The kinetic wheel is pretty smooth and is not noisy. There are 8 levels of resistance and 6 computer excercise programs which is impressive for a bike of this price. I like the recumbant style and overall for only using it a week so far I really like it.
Cons: Only carries a 90 day warranty The seat is not cushioned enough (at least not enough for my large bottom) Reccomended

Quite Dissapointed,
This review is from: Edge 284 Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
This bike had rust all over it, the stand for the digital readings leans to the left and it doesn't calculate much, if anything. Would have been great had it just worked right, we could have dealt with the not so straight stand and the rust but certainly not knowing the miles gone, rpms, etc is no good! This machine is just a piece of junk in the condition it came to us in, we are extremely dissapointed and will be looking into sending it back and getting our money back.

Edge 284 Bike-Not what I expected,
This review is from: Edge 284 Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike (Sports)
This bike is easy to put together and use, but the seat is far to long and hits the back of my legs while I pedal. We also have had trouble with the monitor working. It only shows parts of the numbers. It is extremely quite so you can watch TV while you ride if you want.

Doorbell rang. I was excited! My heart pounded! I came down the stairs! All 5 poodles were barking! I opened the door and my box was delivered as promised! I slid the heavy box inside my greeting room. My son opened the box for me and my heart dropped. The tube stand below the seat was completely bent. Thanks to my son and his girlfriend; they grabbed some heave pipe and tools and spent about a half hour straightening it out enough to match up the bottom rail support. FINALLY! Then it was assembled in like 40 minutes. I love it! But receiving anew product all jacked up did disappoint me. The bike functions as designed! Im breathing better, shrinking my mid section, and all in all HAPPY!
