Unit was easy to install and operate. Custom dash mount looks and fits great. Switching between programs was easy, but make sure you follow the on and off key instructions or it will lock up. Economy mode gave me 1.2 additional mpg's from 15.2 to 16.3. Economy mode performance was same as factory. Tow mode is great, pulling my boat I went from 12.5 to 15 mpg's as well as had tremendous performance gains on hills and passing. Extreme mode with 93 octane gave second scratch on smooth pavement and amazing performance on a punch. Unit is definitely worth it if you tow anything heavy. Extreme mode is a lot of fun if every so often you feel the need for speed.

After having the truck since 2004 decided to finally get one of these after seeing all other brands come and go with various claims to fame. Clean sleek design won me over. Took a chance and purchasing this unit knowing you can purchase the pod separately was unsure if it would actually ship with one...which it did. pleased with the fitment, not a professional stereo install but well enough to maintain stock appearance, no drilling/cutting, holes, removal of dash, etc...wife could have probably installed it within 30min.shipped with current firmware so no update was needed as indicated on installation directions.
First out of the gate set it up with the towing program(pgm 2) since I was soon to travel 300+ miles towing 5600lb toy hauler(unloaded). Without the trailer noticed shifting improvement. Torque converter lockup was much more efficient and allowed the truck to lug more before disengaging to slip in OD. This is something that I had learned to live with after lifting and adding the larger tires. Seemed to hunt a bit more than needed. the low power was always there, just needed something to allow the truck to use it. The unit allows even more adjustment for the lockout through custom programming which is very simple(like adjusting a microwave oven timer). Low end acceleration seemed to clear up allowing smoother power at lower rev's w/ conservative take off's. Rarely tried to pull this large of a load in OD unless driving down grade. Held in dr, 11mpg avg at 50+/-mph drafting, 8 mpg with slight headwind and 55mph(trying to get home faster).
After unloading and selecting program 1(transmission/economy only), was extremely pleased. Returning home on a 50 mile trip(no AC), reset the avg mpg clock and got 18mpg avg. on freeway 60-65mph. 6"inch lift, with additional 3"coilover, running appx. 35 inch tires, 3.73's. Can average 14mpg city stop and go.
Custom program was needed to accommodate tire dia. of the 325 65 18's. Could have simply chosen the pre-programmed setting for 35in which isn't precisely correct for this tire. The mm fine tuning allowed me to program exactly what was needed and seemed to cover just about any tire dia. Many more fine tuning options there but these minor adjustments yielding nice results.

I bought this for my 04 F150. I spent about a year considering it before I finally broke down and bought it. I just wasn't sure that the benefits would be worth the cost.

It takes 5 minutes to install. Plug in the wire and follow some simple instructions. The dash pod is included and fits like it came from he factory. I've had people look at it and wonder when Ford starting installing them at the factory- it looks that good.

I have over sized tires and my speedometer was off. It also makes the shift points off, which was affecting my mileage. Setting the correct tire size requires some math, or the use of the internet, to convert the size into the circumference in millimeters. Google tire size in millimeters and there's a program that allows you to enter your tire size and it tells you what to enter. That program alone made this worth the price.

This gives you the ability to set up in three modes out of the box, or you can program any of the parameters yourself. I put it in performance mode and can easily spin the tires on dry pavement. That mode didn't last long. In towing mode I get the best mileage. The power is still there (way more than stock) and I get close to two MPG improvement. I also have the instant MPG set on the screen, and it has an effect on my driving habits. When I hit the gas and see it at 2 MPG, I tend to lighten up. Mush of my improvement may have come from that, but it works for me.

Overall I could not be happier. I tell everyone that has an F150 they need one. My only regret is I waited so long to buy one. Don't wait- get one!

This works way better than I thought it would. I installed it in 15 minutes and couldn't believe the difference. It took my doggish 4.6 truck and made it fun to drive. Program one makes the truck shift much better. Program two adds more performance plus program 1. I haven't tried 3 yet. I was looking for a little better MPG. My milage increase was about 1 mpg. Even if I didn't gain anything, the way the truck run now it's worth every penny. You can see instant millage and average MPG plus two other thing at the same time. You can change what it displays with a lot of other information. One thing to note: The first time you download a program, it sometimes doesn't take and it does't run right. Don't worry. Just reload the stock program, run it a minute, then download the program you want. It will download fine then. It's real easy to do. If I ever try program 3 , I will update my review with the results. For comparison, I have an extended cab 4x4 F150 with a 6.5 foot bed, 4.6 engine, and 3.55 posi rear end.

I was skeptical. There are 3 choices to program: custom (read the manual first), towing(supposed to get better mpg), and performance (91 octane gas). Towing mode made my truck noticeably faster. I recommend to do a custom tune with all the same features except the firm shift points.

We bought this for our 2006 F150 STX. We have found it to provide noticeable improvement in smoother shifting and driveability, haven't seen a big improvement in horsepower, but very satifsfied with what it does do. The truck is used to tow most of the time, and this really has made a difference. Would definitely recommend it

I put this programmer on my tuck as soon as I got it and immediately noticed the difference in transmission shifting, acceleration, and fuel economy. This is well worth the money and will pay for itself with all the money saved in gas. There is only one thing I didn't like about it and that was to be able to get the full potential out of the truck using the programmer on level 3 you have to run 91 octane or better. Other than that it is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Neat little gadget here i put on my 04 f150.The only performance i can see that this thing made is the difference in shift firmness(tow mode).I originally bought it for better gas mileage.I really couldnt tell a difference in any of the modes for better gas mileage.I even wrote to Edge and asked them if it was suppose to give better mpg and they stated that it only gives 0.6-0.8 mpg gain.It does have a bunch of cool features, most of which i didnt need.Heck my dash has all the gauges i need already. It does seem to be high quality and made well but truthfully i think its just a novelty item. This product would probably work well if you tow a lot or have large tires but i dont have either. My towing is just a small trailer and lawn mower so i dont think i need this for the price.I ended up taking it out and reselling it.It just aint worth the tall price tag for the minimal mpg gain and for a daily driver.

I bought this for my 2006 F150 5.4 to help out with gas mileage. On the "Eco" setting, I really didn't notice the difference in MPG. It only changes the trans shift timing and I could tell the shifting was a little firmer. I have yet to use the tow setting, second setting, but the extreme setting brought my truck to life! I didn't know that my 166,000 mile truck still had the kind of life in it that this programmer brought out of it! Also, with the combo of this device and high test gas, I am actually getting better mileage than I was getting with the stock tune. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting to "pep up" their older ride.

Took about 5-10min to install. Love all the options and information you can get from this unit. Comes with the custom dash mount as other reviews stated. Its great that you can check engine codes if you have the "check engine" light on for quick diagnostic. To many other awesome features. Will update review after 1600mile tow to Colorado.
