A Great Addition to Your In-Car C.D. Collection, August 26, 2006
This review is from: From the Edge of the World (Audio CD)
70's Juke Box, New Age, & New Era Folk......
....I didn't know what to expect, listening to 'Severin Browne' for the first time-
...to my surprise, he does have a sound 'All His Own'...
A couple of the songs off 'The Edge' album sound like Juke Box bar music, from the 70's era, which is a really HIGH standard to live up to... After all, it included musicians like Tom Waits, Gordon Lightfoot....The Eagles....
..& yeah, Severin, an ol' Motown Pro, can do it too.....
(Of course, having 'James Coberly Smith' in your line up, a long time musician in his own right, doesn't hurt either)-
Other songs on this album sound like Severin sat down to specifically pen 'em out for 'The Wave'....a radio station that could put him to good use..
And of course, right away you notice that his voice is higher than Jackson's-
It's fun, at first, to make the comparisons...but if you're a Real Music lover...you come around to notice Severins' talent...
It's different-
and it's definitely worth your time....
I own 'From The Edge of the World' & 'This Twisted Road'....
