This product would be good if it wasn't made so cheaply. Save your money. It probably cost $1 to make. The rubber suction broke off
after the first few swipes with the first knife. What a scam.

The unit came broken.

The base not attached to surface. The unit detached from the base after the first suction. I was able to push really hard and it finally was able to suction.

The sharpen blades where chipped. This caused a rough spot on my blade after 3 draws. I didn't notice until I looked at my blade saw a dark spot on my blade.

Due to the defects after only 3 pulls the blade, I decided it was safer not to continue.

It is so frustrating to buy a product that has potential and totally under delivered.

Sharpens great for about a month and falls apart afterwards. It. Ever stuck to surfaces as stated. Put your money toward better sharpener.

I bought the knife sharpener for my wife as she had several dull knives in her kitchen. I paid about $15 for it at the local department store and took it home to try it out. We did as the videos and some reviews suggested and that was gave it 4 swipes at the sharpener. The edge that came out was sharp and it worked as advertised. While I wasn't overly impressed at the construction, it did do what I needed it to do.

Really this should get NO stars. The television hype shows a credit card being honed so it will slice a tomato, and this worthless product is great for that---I tried it---so if you want to get rid of your kitchen knives and just use your credit cards to prepare meals this is super great. If you plan to use it to actually sharpen a real knife, it will totally ruin the knife, and I'm talking here a full range between the best Henckels, Henckels International, or just crap knives you buy at the grocery store. Also there's no way to get your money back. I'd throw the freaking thing out except I'm saving it to shove down the throat of anybody I find who works for this company.Edge of Glory Knife Sharpener

I will say that the sharpener does work and does a decent job (ergo the two stars). Unfortunately the item is very flimsy and the suction cup broke off after the second use. You figure that Anthony Sullivan putting his backing on the product would give you confidence. Think twice before ordering.

This sharpener is a joke! Sharpened 3 knives and it broke off the base. Threw in the trash, where it belongs!

Good sharpeners remove small amounts of steel on both sides of a knife edge without ruining it or radically changing the factory edge. Carbide sharpeners are effective in sharpening dull knives by removing large amounts of steel in a short amount of time. Unfortunately, they also destroy knives if used extensively, and with good knives, they remove the fine factory edges and puts its own edge on them. Getting their own factory edges restored often requires a lot of work using expensive professional sharpeners.

Putting a decent edge on a knife requires time and some experience. There are much better knife sharpeners out there. Carbide sharpeners are great if used with discretion. For old, dull, cheap knives, carbide sharpeners can put a usable field edge on them. But after that, less aggressive sharpening methods should be applied so as not to ruin them.

One of the best sharpeners on the market is the Spyderco Triangle Sharpmaker.

Sharpens knives excellent but device to stick to counters broke the first day. I still use it because it sharpens great and just hold it down with my hand. Was deciding whether or not to return it but since it does work I am keeping it!
