I live in a studio apartment with no washer/dryer hookups so a ventless washer/dryer combination was the only option for me. After reading mixed reviews of the Haier 1.8 Cu. Ft. model and not wanting to spring $1500 for an LG, I chose the Edgestar and I am quite satisfied so far. There are many things to love about this appliance: the custom cycle selector is great, the washer cleans very well, the machine is whisper quiet, you can select wash only or dry only, and the water usage is minimal. And then there is the dryer. Yes it takes a long time to dry - about 90 minutes for a small load, but if you are patient, clothes come out wrinkle-free and smelling great. I recommend the Edgestar for a single person who does not have to wash big loads frequently. A comforter will wash fine, but I would not try to dry it in a ventless dryer. Plan on 3 hours or more from start-to-finish for towels or a load of jeans. If that works for you, then this is a great purchase.

Be reasonable in how much you put in and what you are expecting to get out of the machine, and it's wonderful. I live with one roommate so large capacity isn't needed, and it does everything we need it to do. People complain about the dry cycle, but personally I have not had a huge issue with its performance, if you load the machine to the weights listed in the manual, it seems to have no problem drying them. After the dry cycle is done the drum is full of humid air though, so it makes the clothes feel a bit like they're damp, but if you pull them out they'll dry immediately.

Not sure what other people did with theirs or if they got a bad machine, but this thing is just fine.

Works very well. Bought for my 92 yr old uncle, think he got it figured out now. Very quite and balanced well for a extremely fast spinning machine.controls pretty easy to understand.

A small load of light weight laundry takes over 3 hours. A full size set of sheets and two pillowcases will require two loads and 6 hours to complete and still not be dry enough to put on the bed. If you have this kind of time plus the hours necessary to wait for the door to unlock and release your clothing than this is the machine is for you.

What a ridiculous waste of money. I get the same error messages every couple of weeks. I've had it repaired once already and it has already broken down again. I'd have better luck with a washboard and a clothesline.

I have an Edgestar CW 2200 washer dryer combo. The spin cycle began to malfunction to the point it finally stopped spinning, I got online and tried for months to find a part supplier-Sears use to sell parts but apparently no longer do. I called the Edgestar company, they haven't made the units for at least 8 years and have no parts nor any advice on someone who does.

I got my machine used, it worked for one month. When it worked it was the best little machine I'd ever used, now it's just an expensive and bulky space gobbler.

LG and I believe Phillips both sell Washer Dryer units, I'd suggest you purchase one of those as they are currently in production and parts should be available.

Edgestar. Such a disappointment.

I purchased this product for a small apartment. The product arrived as scheduled but has never worked. It washes/spins but doesn't dry. Ever. The dryer runs for hours but the clothing comes out as if it's just been spun. I contacted EdgeStar and they couldn't find the product from the model/serial because it was an Amazon order. Once the product was found they scheduled a repair man. He showed up to tell me that his company doesn't fix EdgeStar appliances. I'm returning the product. It's caused me nothing but frustration.

I recommend you save your money.

Love this machine! Needed to get a machine on the first floor of our house to avoid going up and down stairs. After looking at many options we put this washer in place of the kitchen dishwasher. Minimal plumbing required and no dryer vent. Fits perfectly in the same space. Really wanted to get the LG due to brand name, but it is too large.

Took a bit to learn how to work the machine, but it is very important to watch their online video. Particularly frustrating was learning how to get the door open at the end of the cycle. Just because the bell goes off does not mean it will open if it is too hot. Just need to wait for it to cool. Did call customer service on on question and found support to be fast and effective. Machine is a bit more complex than most due to combo washer/dryer functions, but taking the time to learn it, will definitely improve your results.

OK all machines of this type are slow and you won't be washing a weeks worth for a family of six. But frequent small loads are easy. No transferring from washer to dryer, so you just put it in and let it run. If you put a bit too much, it may not be fully dry, but just run another 50 minute dry and that should do it. A little experimenting and you can manage wrinkles pretty well.

This is a great option for small families wanting their machines close by, but don't have room for full size. We still have full size machines in the basement for occasional large heavy loads.

Highly recommend this. We were concerned about how well this would work, but it definitely exceeded our expectations. 4 stars only because it is a little hard to learn. Manual could be better.

I bought this combo washer/dryer after a lot of research and with some trepidation since half of the reviews were extremely positive and half of them were negative. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case with all other washer/dryer combos out there, so we took a chance on this one that was somewhere in the middle in terms of price and added a 3-year warranty just in case.

So far it works as advertised. It is energy efficient and uses very little water (to the point that I thought there may be something wrong with the machine) but everything comes up clean as with regular machines I have used in the past. It is somewhat noisy, but no more than other machines I have owned.

Regarding the dryer, most of the clothes don't come out completely dry, but you hang them a little bit and they are good to go. It is not that they are still wet, it is more like they have been steamed (think with a steam iron). This is what we expected because the way the dryer works (condensation) and because I had been reading the reviews. It may be confusing if you don't expect this

So far we have been happy with the purchase, but still have some uneasiness based on reports from people that the machine breaks after a while. I will update the review (and rating) if that happens, but so far, so good.

Finally, this is a good machine for a couple. If you have a big family it is not going to work out for you (mainly because dryer takes a long time and only in half load).

I have the previous generation of this model (dials rather than computer control). I have had it for 7 years.. because I have not financially prioritized getting a replacement. Today I gave up.
Over the past 7 years..
-I initially had to get warranty work, it did not go well, lead time of 3 weeks to get someone qualified (in a major major US city).
-2 years in, the dryer cycle simply stopped drying, for 5 years I have been air drying (good thing that I like it)
-4 years in, the water heater boost only works when it wants to.
-After researching edgestar, I found they are kinda one big corporation with compactappliance, but try to get support from either of them and they each tell you to go to the other one.
-Vibration (yes I followed instructions) is awful. I gave up today when it 'walked' enough to detach the ejection hose.

Avoid this product, avoid this manufacturer.
