Good travel system...,
By
This review is from: Eddie Bauer® Edgewood Lightweight Travel System- 01750EDG (Baby Product)
I did a LOT of research before buying anything for my baby... Since my parents were planning on buying our travel system I gave them a few options... my Dad also did his own research and decided on the Eddie Bauer travel system... I am still fairly in love with my travel system.
As for the complaints others have had regarding the straps coming loose... I haven't experienced this problem (thank God!) but, I wonder if those who experieced the straps coming loose made sure the the lower adjustment strap on the front underside of the carseat was tightened as well... because if not, then this can cause the straps to loosen but the straps DO NOT come undone in the back. Anytime you make adjustments to the straps you should take your baby out and tug/pull vigorously on all the straps and make sure everything is tight and in place! Never assume you adjusted everything correctly without double checking yourself with and without your baby in the carseat. I'm not sure if those experiencing problems with the straps have followed all of these precautions or not - but "user error" is something to think about when reading reviews. Again, I haven't experienced this problem with our carseat - but if in the future (God forbid) it does happen I will definitely update my review and notify the company. As for the complaints about the car seat being heavy... well, yes it is heavy. But nearly ALL car seats are heavy... afterall this is what is supposed to be protecting your child in the event of an accident. Think about it for a momemt... do you really want your child in the backseat of your car in a really light car seat in the event of an accident? The weight of the car seat helps keep it stable and secure. <And, I'm a former insurance claims adjuster so I have a little bit of knowledge about accidents and such> My recommendation - don't carry the car seat with the baby in it... either use the stroller or use a baby sling (which is better for your back/neck and better for the baby too! What can be better than arms free carrying and bonding/snuggle time with your baby?!?) Another reviewer mentioned the bar attachment (pole) for securing the car seat to the stroller... First of all the bar will not get lost if you attach it to its special location just beneath the adult cupholder compartment (where it's meant to be when not in use). Additionally, I am able to collapse the stroller without moving this bar from where it goes in order to secure the car seat to the stroller unit... it does not have to be removed each and every time you collapse the stroller. With regard to the release handle to open and close the stroller - at first I thought it was impossible to open the stroller once it was collapsed because the handle wouldn't budge - but I finally realized that you simply have to push the stroller together/in a little and then *voila* the handle works perfectly. The canopy for the car seat is relatively flimsy - and I wasn't at all impressed with this - but in my opinion seemed like an unimportant part of the car seat and not worth returning the product for. The large basket is wonderful and it has springs on both sides allowing the basket to bend downward so you can easily get stuff in and out of the basket without bothering baby if the seat is in a reclined position. My only main complaint about the system is: the stroller is relatively bulky for getting in and out of the trunk of the car. I have an Accord and I admit my trunk opening isn't that big, but I have a little difficulty getting it in and out. Just something to be aware of in case you have a smaller vehicle or a small trunk opening. Since it is a fairly large and substantial stroller - it is a little difficult to maneuver around corners because the front wheels are so large. I call it my off roading stroller because that's how it feels sometimes. Otherwise, it handles fine. However, recently the front right wheel has started to squeak - and this is highly annoying for someone who goes on a daily walk for about an hour... I'm really hoping a little WD-40 will do the trick (although the company recommends Vaseline). Overall, I'm satisfied with the stroller and would highly recommend it to others.

When I first began my search for the perfect stroller I had no idea it would be so hard and that there were that many differnt types of strollers. I am a first time parent and I highly recommend this stroller. Your child sit's up high in it and has a better view. Has great features. The material it is made out of is soft and stylish. It is worth every penny.

When you see this many unfavorable reviews, you have to think twice. I would not recommend this product. We got rid of it as soon as we could.
