I really don't know how this ended up being a 5-star read because it really missed the mark in my opinion. I did not feel any type of connection with the characters and became impassive about whether their relationship worked out in the end. Apparently their relationship was based primarily on sex because there really wasn't much else going on in between the sex scenes to make the characters believable when they discovered they were in love. Hot, steamy sex? Lots of sex in different positions, yes, but hot and steamy - I just didn't feel it. Guess characters I appreciate have to have some substance to make the sex scenes really come to life. The author must have watched numerous As Seen On TV commercials because the products (admittedly a part of the back story to a degree) were mentioned throughout. Snugli, Pedi-Egg--that got old quickly. As did the lead female's constant "snorting" at things others said or did. The title also had nothing to do with the book except that it was the bakery of the lead character. The author did have a decent sense of humor that came through. This is probably better suited as a cheap thrill read for the younger set who like to skip to the sex parts. For me, just wondered why I wasted my time on mediocre sex scenes and Snuglis (snort). For a much better storyline, I recommend "Beauty and the Feast" by Julia Barrett. Now that was hot and steamy and the perfect summer read.
