The speakers look pretty smart too, all shining black. The bass is decent - not very deep. This set is good enough for casual listening though my android phone or computer. Read more ›
Clear sound, bass is just a hair lower than I would prefer, but it's not bad. I wish some of the other cables were disconnectable - the first unit I received had a loose… Read more ›
These speakers did their job well, thought the bass is not that exciting. Most speakers work better after using for some time, I will wait to see how the bass improves over… Read more ›
The satellites, however, distort quite a bit when you push…The sub-woofer has minimal distortion, however, I would have liked the bass to be a bit deeper and more present. Read more ›
I'm very happy with the subwoofer, though the satellites are a bit lacking. They distort rapidly when venturing into high volume (higher than my normal use). Read more ›
I would like a bass knob, but I was able to get them bumping nice in iTunes using the equalizer (command-option 2 on Mac; I like the Classical setting, even for hip-hop). Read more ›
PROS. Sound quality is good, bass is "adequately" deep, product looks nice on my desk, comes with a stylish wired volume control remote. Read more ›
The sound is clear and clean, and it's loud enough even for a relatively big room. The only drawback is you can't change the bass level, it might bother some people. Read more ›

Before buying these I went through a wide search for speakers below the price of $40. I was looking at different Logitech, Creative, Altec, Cyber Acoustics among many others. What made me decide for this one was that Edifier is a decent brand and they don't usually have products this cheap. Even thought it doesn't have a bass regulator, it doesn't really need it because I would say the Bass is really set just in the right level. I wouldn't say I'm an Audiophile because that's too expensive, I do enjoy clean, quality sound and these speakers deliver. FULLY RECOMMENDED!

i rarely write reviews but this product was so poor it inspired a response because it was such a disappointment. I would advise strongly against purchasing this product. I've had inexpensive Altec Lansing speakers for 20 years that had a REAL subwoofer and crisp highs. This has neither- low dull flat sound, and NO bass to speak of. With the volume on top setting on both computer and speakers, volume sounds like it should be middle volume. The other thing that is unforgivable as far as design is the bass speaker (i don't know what to call it since it's not a real subwoofer) is completely exposed!-No protection at all and would be very easy to damage. The speaker casings are a dust magnet too! Not up to Amazon standards and not properly described.

I was looking for speakers to monitor some hobby composition and generally listen to tunes at a reasonable volume for 1. These fit the bill.

I'm very happy with the subwoofer, though the satellites are a bit lacking. They distort rapidly when venturing into high volume (higher than my normal use).

I would like a bass knob, but I was able to get them bumping nice in iTunes using the equalizer (command-option 2 on Mac; I like the Classical setting, even for hip-hop).

Warning: The volume module does not affect volume when you plug in headphones (almost blew out my eardrums putting in my buds for the first time).

Overall, I'd rate these speakers as excellent for the price. I like the simple design. There was no speaker-buzz I'd expect from lower-priced units. I knock off one star only because of the distortion at high volume (and I'm talking really blasting, here), which I want sometimes.

I got what I wanted and am very happy with the product.

Just received these speakers from Amazon, and I have to say this is the best $35.00 I have spent in a long time. The tone is sharp and punchy. My last speaker system was Altec Lansing and while they have more expensive traits(separate bass and treble controls) they honestly didn't sound better for three times the money. If you read a negative review of the Edifier speaker system I would advise you to ignore it. Some people bitch about anything.

For 50 bucks, what would you expect? For a 4" subwoofer what would you expect? NOT THIS MUCH SOUND!! Plug the speakers into the sub, plug the sub in the wall/power strip, hook the jack into your audio device and SOAK IN THE SOUND. Puts my Bose wave radio to absolute shame. Get this, buy it, use it. I've been jamming mine out pretty hard now for several months with no issues. It does begin to blow out near max volume, but that's to be expected. Volume control knob is large and flat and easy to manipulate and there is a power button on the control as well.
