Nice pouch, but not quite what's advertised,

This review is from: Edirol OP-R09HR-P Carrying Pouch for R-09HR (Electronics)
The device fits nicely into the pouch and as touted it has ample room for extra batteries, SD cards, and the remote. However, it doesn't have a belt clip as advertised. There is just a flimsy D-Ring attached to the back of the pouch - I'm a bit uncomfortable trusting it to keep my device securely at my side. When I called the vendor, I was told they don't sell a pouch with a belt clip.

The case is pretty much as advertised and does its job well in protecting the R-09HR, plus remote and spare memory. There is no belt loop, but a small ring at the top of the case - I'm not sure how you attach that to a beltWhy only 2 stars then? You can get basically the exact same pouch at any camera store for a point and click digital camera for 1/3-1/2 the price. My recommendation just to be safe on the size, take delivery of the R-09HR, then go to the store and find the best case to match. I'm too lazy to go through the hassle of returning, but I did consider it after seeing very similar cases at a much lower cost in the camera store.

This pouch is nice, but does not have enough space to store extra SD cards, batteries, and the remote for the Edirol. Sorry folks, not worth $33. It has no belt loop either, only a small D ring you have to hook a carabiner to. Not the best setup for carrying in the field. You can buy something better for half the cost elswhere.

I found a very satisfactory case for the R-09HR which has separate, secure compartments for the recorder, stand and remote control. It is the Lowepro Ridge 30, selling for c. $11.

This case is big enough to hold the the recorder in its optional leather cover, plus has pockets for spare batteries & memory cards. It's slim & sturdy za definitely worth the money.
