Let's meet George. I am living in Chapin, South Carolina, with my wife Angela and my son John David. It is hard to believe that my youngest child has now registered for college. He is starting June 29 and he has made me a very happy father. I find it hard to believe that I am less than fifty years old and I have five grandchildren And, yes, there is a Sir Charles in our family. And I am so glad that my mother is here to help me every day. As you read this book you will see a lot of my family in the parts that they play in my everyday life. The pieces of pottery and glass can still be picked up on the beach, but you need to get out there early because the locals are out there when the sun comes up. The part about finding the boat is completely fictional. I want to say that because we need to keep our island the same as it has been all along.
