Edith Stein is one of my favorite saints. I thought I had read everything about her with the books I have. This book opened up a whole new dimension to the suffering of Edith Stein and other Catholic Jews. The accounts are clear and poignant; photos of each of the companions and their lives are presented. I was deeply moved. Highly recommended.

As my title says, I have not finished reading this book. However, it is very good and anyone looking for conversion or WW2 stories will enjoy this find!
I'll revise/update this review once I finish this. I just wanted to encourage others to pick it up. P.S. So far, not the least bit depressing.

This book illustrates the innate goodness of the humanity of those holy and devote people against the evil of the Nazi regime. Each person through their suffering is a model of and for mankind and a true image and likeness of God. These are the type of people that we need in the "modern" world, the true heroes and leaders. These are the people we should emulate--their goodness is an example to live through the ages. The book is well written and is truly inspirational.
