A valuable book about Peruvian Curanderismo
While lacking the depth of "Wizard of the Four Winds" by Douglas Sharon (OP, but will be back in print soon), this book still provides a lot of information about Eduardo Calderon and Peruvian Northern Coast curanderismo. This book is built around a transcript of the movie "Eduardo the Healer," 1978, directed by Richard Cowan. As far as I know it is the only place where...

not so good
I was expecting a little more from this one. Not much to read other than what the title states: The words of a peruvian healer.

While lacking the depth of "Wizard of the Four Winds" by Douglas Sharon (OP, but will be back in print soon), this book still provides a lot of information about Eduardo Calderon and Peruvian Northern Coast curanderismo. This book is built around a transcript of the movie "Eduardo the Healer," 1978, directed by Richard Cowan. As far as I know it is the only place where you can find transcriptions of Eduardo's invocations, and for this alone this book makes a valuable contribution. In addition, there is an outline of the curandero ceremony, and detailed description of Eduardo's mesa, item by item. Text is in English and Spanish, so the 140 pages boils down to only 70 pages of text. But with so little available on this subject, this volume should not be ignored for it's contribution.
