In Adult Education in a Multicultural Society Beverly Cassara examines some of the challenges facing adult educators in meeting the needs of newly-arrived adults. The book is divided into three sections: the first analyzes some of the issues raised by pluralism and linguistic diversity; the second provides a historical overview of the education of some of the larger ethnic groups in the US; and the third introduces and looks at some new initiatives in both basic literacy and on university, professional and vocational levels.
