Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

The papers in this collection were presented at the 1990 summer institute for state legislators. The contributors are well-known educators. The emphasis is on restructuring, and five of the nine essays examine various aspects of this subject. Two papers describe state programs of accountability. One urges parents to become involved in their children's education, and the final paper describes the changing politics of education reform, with state governments taking the lead. While addressed primarily to elected officials, their aides, and concerned citizens, the book will also interest local and private school administrators, professors, and students of education.
