This kit brings fun for both the pet and the owner. The bright neon properties of this tank can actually help them to enjoy more any light source. Sea-Monkeys® adore the light, and these sparkling toys (Sea-Diamonds) drive them nuts!. Because of their weight, some diamonds sinks, some others float, and others just keep hovering in the middle of tank, depending on the evaporation and salt concentration. Some Sea-Monkeys® like to 'hang' around them, some others bigger Sea-Monkeys like to grab them. You can let them dry and re-use them again.

These kits are just weird and cool! Kids will have fun while having an educative experience ;)

My husband and I bought Sea-Monkeys for my 6yr old son this past christmas and they are wonderful and highly educational pets. They are very simple to take care of even for young children. When we first started them there were at least a hundred but as they got bigger i guess some died or were eaten but nobody really noticed because the others were getting so big you dont even need to magnify well the first time we were supposed to feed them we made a mistake and gave them food from the wrong side of the scoop but they didnt die. We oxygenate their tank every two days, we feed them every five days, we have now had them over a month and last week we caught some in the act of trying to produce us more little bundles of joy and guess what today we see lots of them again so many i think we need an extra tank and more supplies, My other children also love to watch them ones 11 and the other is just under 2. (I think I know what they will be getting fo their birthdays.) So I recommend these to anyone big or small yong or old because they are fantastic pets and highly amusing.

This was the first sea monkey kit that I bought. I would recommend getting a tank with an air bubbler to begin with. This is a very good 2nd tank. If you want your monkeys to grow, follow the instructions. They require very little care and make a fantastic dorm room pet, especially in dorms where no pets are allowed. Yes, sea monkeys do exist.

Hello, my name is Kelli, I bought these sea-monkeys in hope of a decorative touch to my room, and some fun. The florescent color of the container isn't helpful at all, it just makes it even harder to see the tiny sea-monkeys. But i enjoyed experimenting with the sea diamonds, they're really interesting. I'm not sure how long the sea-monkeys will last, because i've only had them for a week, but they seem healthy and strong. I recomend this toy to younger children whom aren't allowed to have pets, but want one. I'm not really sure how to take care of them, so if you happen to know information on how to care for these sea critters, please write another review explaining for me. Overall, these little adventurers are quite fun.

This is a really cool pet. it comes with everything you need to start raising you're own sea-monkeys. The only part about that I don't like is it does not tell you how to use the sea dimonds. Some instuctions you need you have to go to sea-monkeys.com. The Seamonkeys start of really really small, but then get REALLY big. A tip I give you is do every thing exactly as the instuctions say. Over Sea-Monkeys are a great pet.

My daughter received a set of Sea Monkeys for Christmas and they are huge and still doing great - and I forget about them a lot! We feed them about 1x week (when we remember) and I have never done anything else. We actually have babies swimming around now!
I am on Amazon looking for another set because we have had such good luck with them. I would actually like to get a bigger tank for them.

My little sister got this toy for christmas and it rocks!My sister never aerates the tank and forgets to feed the sea monkeys and they still live.

I LOVE these little guys! They're so cute and fun to watch! They also have a very great calming effect. Its pretty kool how you get to watch them grow from nothing into your very own pet! I rate this product 5 STARS! I think EVERYONE should have these fun, extremely playful pets!

READ ALL DIRECTIONS BEFORE HANDING TO YOUR KID!!! If your kid doesn't read directions carefully they may waste the packets and not grow any "monkeys". I think the refill packets are expensive. To replace all the packets costs more than the whole start up package .
I would probably buy one again but stress the need for a parents involvement in setting it up and monitoring during growth.

We gave this Sea Monkey kit to our grandson who is in kindergarten (age 6). Kids of this age appear to be greatly interested in animals and this is one that they can handle with adult supervision, which is very important in getting it set up. The child can do the maintenance work such as introducing oxygen into the small tank (by stirring) and also the occasional feeding that is necessary once or so per week, as indicated in the instructions. Initially there is not a lot you can see but the little things grow up to be quite visible. They may be more interesting to look at under a microscope or small magnifier, as there are both males and females of this brine shrimp species.
