Take this from a 14 year-old's point of view. The Sea-Monkeys® Ghostly Galleon® is one of the BEST sets out there. It includes the Sea-Monkey® tank, a light-up tank cover, which you can turn on and off. It is very useful for locating the Sea-Monkeys® when they are little. There is a color filter, too, to change the color of the light. It also includes the much needed Million Bubbles® air pump. You can easily aerate their water using this piece of equiptment. It also has the new Plasma III®, for bigger and stronger Sea-Monkeys®. It has everything you need to create Instant Life®. Water Purifier, Sea-Monkey® eggs, and Sea-Monkey® Growth Food, with the measuring spoon. Included is an Aqua Leash® to transport your pets from one place to another.

A projector screen comes with the set. You can take the light-up cover off, and shine it behind the tank, to project magnified Sea-Monnkeys® onto the screen. The tank has a little sunken ship glued to the bottom. It glows in the dark. Basically, this kit has pretty much everything you need to raise Sea-Monkeys®. I think the only thing they should've added were Sea Diamonds®, which are little "sea gems" for them to play with. But you can order the Sea Diamonds® from the illustrated Sea-Monkey® handbook. It's a handbook with instructions (be sure to read them!) and a mail-order catalog to buy from.

The instructions are easy to follow. Add the Water Purifier, and wait for 24-36 hours. THIS STEP MUST BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER TO CREATE THE INSTANT LIFE® EFFECT! After waiting for the appropriate time, add the eggs, and KABOOM! Little Sea-Monkeys®! The feeding instructions are clear, they tell you about Sea-Monkey® breeding, and what to do if the water evaporates. The also give some scientific aspects of Sea-Monkeys®, so they are good for a school project/science fair, etc. Everyone should have these fun pets. They ARE better than Triops®! I didn't give this product a full durability rating because this tank can easily be knocked over or spilled.

This is without a doubt the coolest Sea Monkey kit out there. It includes a light, a rubber ship, the basic sea monkey packets, plasma 3 color light filters, aqua leash, and the million bubbles airpump. These are really great, people say they get as bigh as 1" but they don't get any bigger than 1/4". And about the ship it is cool, but there is a whole on the bottom, Sea Monkeys go in but they don't come out! All around this is the coolist thing ever.

I purchased this item for my two daughters, ages 9 and 5. They were very excited to see the sea monkeys come to life and grow so quickly and became very interested in marine life as a result. They took very good care of the sea monkeys, followed all instructions on feeding, giving them air and taking care of the small tank. The built in light on the tank cover is a great bonus, because we could easily see what the sea monkeys were doing.

The only problem I had with this product is the fact that the base of the tank is very slender and tipping is a big risk. There were many times the end table would get bumped into, and the sea monkey tank would almost tip over. Finally, the inevitable happened, and we lost our sea monkeys when the tank tipped over and spilled onto the living room carpet.

If you have a VERY sturdy place to put them, this product is a lot of fun. We enjoyed it so much, that we purchased another one, and this time the sea monkeys are living happily ever after, with the tank safely on our sturdy kitchen counter, for all the world to enjoy!!

Having been a sea monkey owner for a month now, I have found it a very enjoyable and educational experience. They are fun-to-watch, low maintenance, pets. They make great pets for students, and are more exciting than fish.

The Ghostly Galleon kit is very nice. The tank is very well-constructed. One neat thing is that the sunken galleon is actually hollow, and sea monkeys can swim in and out of it. I also found it very useful that the kit included a Million Bubble Air Pump, which is the recommended tool for aerating the tank. Even though this item can be purchased directly from Transcience by mail-order or online, it was nice not to have to wait for it to arrive separately.

One caveat is that the instructions on the packets and in the official sea monkey handbook are not always up-to-date. I would recommend following the instructions on the official web site ...

BANG!Instant life!I have owned many sea monkey kits over the years and this one was exceptional!If you need to clean out the tank whats helpful is putting the sea monkeys in another tank to sea if they enjoy the change of area.I transfer my sea monkeys within 5 different tanks and they seem to love it!Take my advice and BUY THIS KIT! My cousin came to visit and she would just sit in front of the tank and stare!If your child wants a pet and they need to show you that they can take care of a living animal start with sea monkeys and build your way up!My mother made me and it helped me learn to care for and to love animals! Even small ones such as sea monkeys!!I'm so glad that Amazon.com is selling these! I always had to search through stores and I never knew Amazon.com sold them till a couple months ago!So buy these Sea Monkeys(or any sea monkeys)they're worth it!

Sea Monkeys are the perfect pet. They are fun to watch. They take up very little space. They don't eat much at all. Sea Monkeys are highly educational not to mention FUN. There are tons of websites on the subject. Sea Monkeys can live about two years with proper care and have been known to live longer than that. The only problem is the water can get cloudy but that is easily solved by cleaning. Using the aqua leash included scoop your pets up and place them in their own water in a clean container. Run their water through a coffee filter, remember to use their water always because they are salt water creatures. They are REALLY easy to care for and seem to love people. OH, they don't really look like monkeys, sorry.

This kit is the best sea-monkey kit made! All the other kits don't have everything you need to keep your sea-monkeys alive. My other kit was Magic Castle and it lasted about 1/2 a year and this kit's sea-monkeys are still living and its been a year I think.

These sea monkeys are bloody cool!I had the sea monkeys for two whole years!The sea monkeys are very easy to keep.All you realy got to do is follow simple dierections.It tells you step by step instructions to sucess.One of my favorite feature is the flash lite at the top of the tank.Another cool feature is that there is a hand book that tells you tricks you can teach your sea monkeys.Also the ship in the tank glows!I recomend this kit to you over all other sea monkey kits.

Great item. Bought this for my division aboard a deployed United States Navy ship. Has provided a lot of enjoyment for me and my sailors. Good moral booster. Unfortunately the included light eats batteries like crazy and the bulb burnt out very quickly.

This is an above average sea monkey kit.

For a few extra dollars you get a couple of good extras. The lighted tanks is pretty cool, and the sunken ship is just okay (mine didn't really glow in the dark and the mast was permanently all bent out of shape). I found the Sea Monkey eye-droppers particularly useful. You can use it to put bad monkeys into isolation or sacrifice them to the gold fish or whatever. You also get a couple of extra mystery sea-monkey packages. Despite the reassuring directions, I'm not really sure that they do anything. However, the purple one really doesn't add any flavor to a double latte.

Go ahead and buy this one. Have fun with your monkeys.
