I have to admit that I was doubtful about this product. I've bought a lot of scented items like stickers, erasers, and pencils that had very little scent, even when brand new.

But this product is very, very different! The scent is VERY strong and very pleasant! The plastic tubes that each pencil comes in makes for a great way to store the pencils to keep their scent lasting a long time. I've had one of my smencils for several years, and the scent is still just as strong today as it was the day I bought it used as a flea market in a cracked tube! I recommend storing these in the plastic tubes at all times so their scent stays strong for years. (Or at least until the pencils are used up!) I personally just keep these around for the scent, which I find calming, but you may use them up long before the scent thing even becomes an issue.

If you love scented things as much as I do, I think you'll be really impressed with these. They are, by far, the most strongly scented item I have ever purchased. I give this product five stars all the way!

I bought these for my kids for Christmas and they are a hit! We homeschool so my kids love doing their school work with their "smell-good" pencil! I have even taken over one for myself. The pencil lead is great for writing... very smooth and easy.

My only suggestion is to NOT use a battery operated or plug-in pencil sharpener. Your pencil will waste away too soon and be gone. Get a sharp hand-held sharpener and you will find the pencil lasts a really long time and sharpens without much effort.

My 5 year old son is into drawing and he also came home with a scratch and sniff sticker on his schoolwork that he thought was really cool. So when I saw these I thought they'd make a nice little extra hanukah gift. I gave him these with a spiral bound sketch pad. I was surprised by how excited he was(before he even smelled them). Once we opened them...I have to tell you I am having fun right along side of him drawing with these...they just smell so awesome!! I was just sharpening some in the electric sharpener and their smell drifts into the air - lol. My 10 year old daughter thinks they are cool too. 100 PERCENT FUN!!

I purchase this item from Amazon and when I received the package it had only one smencil, not 10.
I contacted the company and they said it was a misunderstanding by Amazon and they did not have a 10 pack of smencils for that price.
I do not understand because the item is still on Amazon's site for 10 smencils. They did give me a refund and told me to keep the one smencil.

I recieved my smencils in the mail today, and boy am I happy! They are everything I hoped for and more! The smells are intense and wonderful! They smell just as the lables say they do! There are ten scents and they are:

Rootbeer

Bubblegum
cotton candy
water melon
orange
cinnamon
black cherry
grape
very berry

and
Tropical Blast

Each of them have their own smell and come in their own container so that they will smell for longer. I am very pleased with htis product.

I was pretty skeptical that these pencils wouldn't smell but they actually smell very good! The different scents are very acurate and strong. My daughter absolutely loves them.

My 7 year old daughter (2nd grade)was thrilled to find these pencils in her Christmas stocking. They smell quite strong, but not too strong. I like that they each have an individual case so you only smell the one you are using at the time. She really enjoys these.

My elementary kids LOVE using these pencils. Their favorite...rootbeer. I am amazed that after a year's use, they still have a very destinct scent. I do keep them in the plastic containers which I am sure helps. Besides writing, the scent of the pencils are also helpful in 'sparking' up their minds mid-morning or mid-afternoon.

I love Smencils. They smell really good, and actually smell like whatever they're supposed to. They are fun to use because they smell great, and the lead seems to be pretty hard so it lasts long.

They're not actually good for the environment like they say they are, because each Smencil comes in a plastic tube that will last forever in the landfill, whereas the newspapers they're made from are actually very biodegradable. Oh well.

I bought these for my boyfriend's niece and nephews. Unfortunately, the carry-case isn't very durable, and was torn on one end when I received it. Nevertheless, I gave these to them without the case, and they loved them.

I am not a kid, but I love these pencils, okay smencils. They're created from recycled newspapers, most of them smell pretty good, and they're easy to sharpen. Get them!
