For Christmas we bought this toy for my 4-year-old son who loves to "figure things out". Many levels exist to help rescue the princess (or in some cases, the knight). Each level builds on the logic learned in previous levels. Truth be told, when he went to bed, I was playing with it. It really makes you think... and it even allows for more than one solution to many of the scenarios. We loved it.

We recently purchased this for our 4 year old son and could not be happier. The product is solid wood construction and comes with a book of 48 challenges that do not require reading to be understood and performed, so my son can play on his own. He loves to work out the tests, and just create his own games with the blocks. The challenges start from the ridiculously simple (for really young kids) to those hard enough to give my engineer husband a good test. This is one of the best toys we've ever purchased . . .highly recommend it for kids who love puzzles, and especially those who like castles/princes/princesses.

My mother bought this for our daughter for her 5th birthday and she absolutely loves it! We do the easier puzzle for her, as she tends to give up quickly on the harder ones, but as she works her way from easy to hard I find that her patience and the "I CAN do it" attitude improves greatly. I have to admit my husband and I love it as well, I've often found myself still playing with it after my 5 year old goes to bed!

My six year old son received this game for his birthday. It is beautifully made with durable, colorful blocks. The booklet is organized from the simplest of puzzles to the most difficult. My six year old and four year old both enjoy this game, and the best part is that they can play it by themselves. It makes them think outside the box. I have played it and really enjoyed it too! This is a great toy.

My 5 yr old daughter received this for her birthday and loves it. After completing each challenge she is so proud of herself. I like that the challenge has the princess rescuing the prince as well as the prince rescuing the princess.

i purchased this for my niece (6 1/2 yr) for christmas per her mom's suggestion. this was a huge hit with her--she opened the box and sat right down to play with it--for 30 minutes straight. it looked like so much fun even the older kids (teens) wanted to help. comes in nice box with all pieces stored in it. i would also recommend castle logix (similar concept). i want to get for more kids but they're not old enough yet! would really recommend for 5+ or preK-kindergarten.

My daughter just turned 3 and she loves it! The human element (being the knight who wants to get to the princess) makes this game fun for the very young - at the end of each puzzle my daughter puts the knight, the princess and some toy animals to boot on one of the towers (or, her favorite combination when the princess and the knight meet half-way "on the bridge"), and then she says: "let's do another one!".

My daughter received this for Christmas 2009. She had just turned 6. Like most kids her age, she generally loves playing with a new toy from between a few hours to a few days, and then the novelty wears off.She is STILL playing with this puzzle. Fact is, we all are. Her 9 year old brother loves it as well, as do I and her dad. With so many different layouts and levels, even after you have worked your way through all of them, it's fun to go back and start over again. I was planning on buying this game for several friends' kids this year, but now I'm having a hard time finding it. Figures!! Thought-provoking, sturdy, and challenging - it even comes in a well-designed box so we've never lost a piece and can take it with us anywhere. Why aren't more toys like this one??

This toy is absolutely great. My youngest sees them as fun blocks, my 4 year old can do lots of the challenges and my 6 year old LOVES it. We took it out of town with us in lieu of a puzzle and got lots of use out of it. I even like to do it myself (it's hard if you don't think out of the box!) Highly educational and provides feelings of pride and accomplishment. Can't recommend it more!

This is one of those toys that my kids played with non-stop when they bought it, tired after about a week, and the picked it up a few weeks later to play with nonstop again. It seems a continuous pattern. They play through the levels until they "beat it", forget about it for awhile, and then play it anew. The game is simple enough--use the blocks to create a bridge from the knight to the princess. You setup the red and orange blocks as shown in the game book and use the "allowed" blocks to make the bridge. Often there is more than 1 solution, but often no solution is obvious. The pieces are all extremely high quality--my 2 year old son broke into the box and started chucking the pieces. He didn't even chip the paint! This toy makes an excellent gift and a high quality solo-toy for a kid age 4 and up. Highly recommended! |
