This product has saved countless hours of waiting for materials to be laminated at school. The laminating sheets can be a bit pricey, however, I found a package at Sams for twenty dollars. Also, I lost a few pages because the machine jammed.

I bought this little laminator at the end of the school year last year. After using it quite a bit this year, I don't know how I lived without it! For smaller items like game pieces, name tags, calendar numbers, etc, it is perfect! It is much easier to work with and the laminating pouches I purchased through Amazon.com at the same time are great too. I would highly recommend as a MUST HAVE!

Why not 5 Stars?
* It's a little slow motion. So it takes a little time but the seals are good.
* After a few pages, it needs to re-heat. Not a long wait time, but if you don't like waiting, it's a hassle.
* No auto shut off....just in case you are like me and forget to turn it off, well it will still be on in the morning!

I got my first educational insights' laminator as a Christmas gift. Brand new and right out of the box it did not work properly. The laminating pouches did not advance, things I tried to laminate kept getting stuck and there was a constant terrible grinding noise. We contacted Amazon and they replaced it with a new model. My mistake, I did not try it out right away as things were very busy at school. I just unpacked it last week and although it seemed fine at first after running through a few pages the whole unit jammed up and began making grinding noises. I called Education Insights Customer Service department and they said that my unit was definatly faulty based on my discription of the problem. However it only had a 90 day warranty so the best they could do was to give me a 10% discount on a new machine. While I understand their need to set limits to ensure that people don't wear out products and then try to return them, after two failed models there is no way I am going to waste my money on what is now a large, expensive and worthless paperweight. I just wish this little "life lesson" on trying things out sooner hadn't cost me over 60 bucks!!
